Objective: To investigate the impact of ionizing radiation (IR) on the structure and function of the testis and provide some strategies for the prevention and treatment of IR-induced damage (IRD).

Methods: Using radiation dose simulation, semen analysis, hormone testing, electron microscopy and single-cell transcriptome sequencing, we assessed and analyzed a case of IRD. Wide-field photobleaching imprinting microscopy (PIM) can improve fluorescence image contrast by cleverly exploiting the fluorophores' photobleaching properties. However, as conventional wide-field PIM commonly adopts Gaussian illumination with a nonuniform lateral fluence distribution, the field-of-view (FOV) and sampling density are largely reduced. In addition, the slow axial fluence gradient of Gaussian illumination limits the signal-to-background ratio (SBR) improvement and optical sectioning capability of PIM.

Anion exchange membrane water electrolyzers (AEMWEs) suffer from low efficiencies and durability, due to the unavailability of appropriate anion exchange membranes (AEM). Herein, a rigid ladder-like polyxanthene crosslinker was developed for the preparation of ultramicroporous crosslinked polyxanthene-poly(biphenyl piperidinium)-based AEMs. Due to the synergetic effects of their ultramicroporous structure and microphase-separation morphology, the crosslinked membranes showed high OH conductivity (up to 163 mS cm at 80 °C).
