O157:H7, , and are major foodborne pathogens that are widespread in nature and responsible for several outbreaks of food safety accidents. Thus, a rapid and practical technique (PMA-mPCR) was developed for the simultaneous detection of viable O157:H7, , and in pure culture and in a food matrix. To eliminate false positive results, propidium monoazide (PMA) was applied to selectively suppress the DNA amplification of dead cells.

A high reliability system has the characteristics of complexity, modularization, high cost and small sample size. Throughout the entire lifecycle of system development, storage and use, the high reliability requirements and the risk analysis form a direct contradiction with the testing expenses. In order to ensure the system, module or component maintains good reliability status and effectively reduces the cost of sampling tests, it is necessary to make full use of multi-source prior information to evaluate its reliability.

Chinese Few-Shot Named Entity Recognition and Knowledge Graph Construction in Managed Pressure Drilling Domain.

Entropy (Basel)

July 2023

Key Laboratory for Symbol Computation and Knowledge Engineering of National Education Ministry, College of Computer Science and Technology, Jilin University, Changchun 130012, China.

Managed pressure drilling (MPD) is the most effective means to ensure drilling safety, and MPD is able to avoid further deterioration of complex working conditions through precise control of the wellhead back pressure. The key to the success of MPD is the well control strategy, which currently relies heavily on manual experience, hindering the automation and intelligence process of well control. In response to this issue, an MPD knowledge graph is constructed in this paper that extracts knowledge from published papers and drilling reports to guide well control.

Article Synopsis
  • Chaotic time series are challenging to predict due to their randomness, nonlinearity, and unpredictability, making high-precision forecasting difficult.
  • This paper introduces a generalized degree of freedom approximation method for multi-layer perceptron (MLP) networks, along with an Akachi information criterion as a loss function for training models.
  • The proposed method has been tested on both artificial and real-world chaotic time series, demonstrating its effectiveness in model selection and achieving strong performance in multi-step predictions.

Antioxidants which are indispensable functional additives used in rubber tires, are released into aquatic habitats from tire wear particles (TWP), collected in water bodies, and threaten the aquatic ecosystem. This study aimed to design eco-friendly derivatives of 2,2,4-trimethyl-1,2-dihydroquinoline (TMQ) with increased antioxidant activity to use as tire antioxidants. Initially, seventy highly efficient derivatives of TMQ were designed by hydroxylation modifications at multiple sites.

Right, but not left, posterior superior temporal gyrus is causally involved in vocal feedback control.

Neuroimage

September 2023

Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, The First Affiliated Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University, Guangzhou, China; Guangdong Provincial Key Laboratory of Brain Function and Disease, Zhongshan School of Medicine, Sun Yat-sen University, Guangzhou, China. Electronic address:

The posterior superior temporal gyrus (pSTG) has been implicated in the integration of auditory feedback and motor system for controlling vocal production. However, the question as to whether and how the pSTG is causally involved in vocal feedback control is currently unclear. To this end, the present study selectively stimulated the left or right pSTG with continuous theta burst stimulation (c-TBS) in healthy participants, then used event-related potentials to investigate neurobehavioral changes in response to altered auditory feedback during vocal pitch regulation.

Cervical cancer diagnosis hinges significantly on precise nuclei segmentation at early stages, which however, remains largely elusive due to challenges such as overlapping cells and blurred nuclei boundaries. This paper presents a novel deep neural network (DNN), the Global Context UNet (GC-UNet), designed to adeptly handle intricate environments and deliver accurate cell segmentation. At the core of GC-UNet is DenseNet, which serves as the backbone, encoding cell images and capitalizing on pre-existing knowledge.

Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is one of the leading causes of cancer death in the world. Despite the development of various lung cancer treatment methods, including surgery, radiation therapy, endocrine therapy, immunotherapy, and gene therapy, chemotherapy remains the most common approach for treating cancer. The risk of tumors acquiring resistance to chemotherapy remains a significant hurdle to the use of this approach for the successful treatment of various types of cancer.

Despite the development of various cancer treatment methods, chemotherapy remains the most common approach for treating cancer. The risk of tumors acquiring resistance to chemotherapy remains a significant hurdle to the successful treatment of various types of cancer. Therefore, overcoming or predicting multidrug resistance in clinical treatment is essential.

Optimizing the Production of Antioxidant and Antibacterial Alkaloids from Macleaya cordata by Subcritical Water Extraction Technology.

Chem Biodivers

August 2023

Institute of Chemistry and Technical Electrochemistry, Faculty of Chemical Technology, Poznan University of Technology, Berdychowo 4, 60-965, Poznan, Poland.

In this work, the subcritical water extraction technology was used to extract alkaloids from Macleaya cordata, and the effects of extraction temperature and time on its yield were investigated to find the best extraction conditions. Moreover, the antioxidant capacity and antibacterial activity of Macleaya cordata extract were studied. Furthermore, through the single-factor method, it was found that properly increasing the extraction temperature and prolonging the extraction time was conducive to increasing alkaloid yield.

Solar-driven CO reduction into fuels and sustainable energy has attracted increasing attention around the world. However, the photoreduction efficiency remains low due to the low efficiency of separation of electron-hole pairs and high thermal stability of CO. In this work, we prepared a CdO decorated CdS nanorod for visible light driven CO reduction.

Tire antioxidants are essential functional chemical additives in tire rubber production. Because of the characteristic easy precipitation in the water environment, the environmental pollution problem caused by tire antioxidants is concerning. To reveal the mechanism by which tire antioxidants reduce common oxidative factors (free radicals) in the environment and to control the potential biological thyroid hormone disorder risk of tire antioxidant derivatives, eight commonly used antioxidants in tire production were selected for analysis.

ITIC-series nonfullerene organic photovoltaics (NF OPVs) have realized the simultaneous increases of the short-circuit current density () and open-circuit voltage (), called the positive correlation between and , which could improve the power conversion efficiency (PCE). However, it is complicated to predict the formation of positive correlation in devices through simple calculations of single molecules due to their dimensional differences. Here, a series of symmetrical NF acceptors blended with the PBDB-T donor were chosen to establish an association framework between the molecular modification strategy and positive correlation.

Hybrid recommendation algorithms perform well in improving the accuracy of recommendation systems. However, in specific applications, they still cannot reach the requirements of the recommendation target due to the gap between the design of the algorithms and data characteristics. In this paper, in order to learn higher-order feature interactions more efficiently and to distinguish the importance of different feature interactions better on the prediction results of recommendation algorithms, we propose a light and FM deep neural network (LFDNN), a hybrid recommendation model including four modules.

Ischemic stroke (IS) is a leading cause of death in the world, and there is still a lack of effective treatments. Ginkgolide B (GB) can antagonize the platelet activating factor receptor and has shown a significant curative effect on cerebral ischemia. However, GB and other drugs for IS have shown poor clinical efficacy due to their inability to cross the blood-brain barrier (BBB).
