Herein, a groundbreaking interfacial solar steam generation system capable of simultaneous hypersaline desalination and ambient energy harvesting is introduced. Through hierarchical hydrogel architecture incorporating a central vertical channel and radial channels with gradient apertures, the design effectively decouples salt transport and water evaporation: solar-driven fluid convection directs water outward for evaporation, while inward salt migration prevents surface crystallization and redistributes excess heat.

This pilot study evaluates the feasibility and acceptability of the DANMM programme and its impact on cultural safety knowledge and workplace experiences.

Background: The Palliative Care Outcomes Collaboration (PCOC), established in 2005 and funded by the Australian Government, is a national quality improvement initiative that integrates patient outcome measures into routine clinical practice. While PCOC supports services to improve patient care, implementation across diverse clinical settings presents challenges, with variation observed between similarly resourced services. Engaging services in continuous quality improvement proves difficult as the program grows.

Attitudes and perceptions of biomedical journal editors in chief towards the use of artificial intelligence chatbots in the scholarly publishing process: a cross-sectional survey.

Background: Artificial intelligence chatbots (AICs) are designed to mimic human conversations through text or speech, offering both opportunities and challenges in scholarly publishing. While journal policies of AICs are becoming more defined, there is still a limited understanding of how Editors in chief (EiCs) of biomedical journals' view these tools. This survey examined EiCs' attitudes and perceptions, highlighting positive aspects, such as language and grammar support, and concerns regarding setup time, training requirements, and ethical considerations towards the use of AICs in the scholarly publishing process.

Conservation planning for environmental water to climate refugia in the manageable Murray-Darling Basin.

One mechanism for improving the resilience of freshwater systems affected by climate change is to use environmental water to support refugial habitats which allow species, ecosystems and functions to persist and recover after severe droughts. We applied systematic conservation planning (SCP) to prioritise wetlands and lakes with the aim of informing the delivery of environmental water for the creation and protection of refugia habitat in the Murray-Darling Basin, Australia. SCP uses a complimentary algorithm to generate planning solutions that protect all target ecological assets for the lowest "cost" of the management constraints considered.

The coupling of electrocatalytic CO reduction (ECR) and methanol oxidation reaction (MOR) presents a promising strategy for simultaneous cogeneration of formic acid (FA) at both cathode and anode. However, sluggish kinetics, low selectivity and efficiency hinder practical application. Herein, we demonstrate an integrated ECR||MOR system employing CuBi cathode and NiCo anode for energy-efficient FA cogeneration.

Background: Cold-stored platelets (CSP) are now being used to treat acute bleeding. However, as CSP are less suitable for prophylaxis, both room temperature (RT) platelets and CSP will be required, which complicates inventory management. The production of CSP "on-demand" from RT platelets may be a desirable option.

Aims: To describe diagnostic categories and comorbidities associated with increased risk of readmission within 28 days among older adults.

Methods: Retrospective observational study of all hospital admissions following ED attendance by patients aged ≥ 60 years between July 2020 and June 2023. Index and subsequent 28-day readmission were identified using ED data and hospital discharge records.

Caring for carers of people with advanced cancer at hospital discharge (CARENET): A single-arm open label feasibility trial.

Objectives: Carers are critical to support discharge home from hospital at end of life yet remain under-represented in health service initiatives to assist this transition.
