Fibroblast activation protein inhibitors (FAPI) PET is a new imaging approach that targets the cell population in the tumour surrounding stroma, particularly cancer-associated fibroblasts, rather than tumour cells. 68Ga-FAPI PET/CT FAPI PET/CT provides better lesion characterisation due to a higher tumour-to-background ratio and exhibits high diagnostic accuracy, especially for cancers that exhibit low-to-moderate uptake of 18F-FDG. We report the case of a 77-year-old woman with known renal cell carcinoma treated ten years ago, and recently presented with cholangitis and a liver lesion.

Objectives: We aimed to investigate the expression levels and interaction between E2F-1 and Akt1 in triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) cells, and whether cisdiamminedichloroplatinum (II) (cisplatin) could influence such an interaction.

Methods: A batch of MDA-MB-321 breast cancer cells were treated with increasing concentrations of cisplatin (2.5-40 μM) for 24 hours.

The COVID-19 pandemic led to widespread adoption of virtual program information sessions (VPIS) in Radiation Oncology (RO) to provide medical students (MS) with information about residency programs. We aimed to investigate whether students find VPIS useful and desire continuation. An anonymous survey utilizing 5-point Likert scales and descriptive feedback was developed to assess MS and residency program member (RPM) perspectives on VPIS.

Objectives: Beckwith-Wiedemann syndrome (BWS) is a rare genetic and cancer-predisposing disorder characterized by variable clinical and molecular abnormalities. It is considered a spectrum ranging from classical BWS to isolated hemihyperplasia (IHH). This study sought to characterize Omani patients with BWS and IHH clinically and molecularly, evaluate their surveillance results, and assess the tumor's prevalence in the cohort.

Malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumours (MPNSTs) are very rare, aggressive soft-tissue neoplasms developing from and involving the peripheral nerve sheath. MPNSTs are difficult to diagnose and treat and they contribute to significant morbidity and mortality for patients. 18F-FDG PET/CT is valuable in diagnosing and staging as well as guiding therapeutic interventions, especially therapy response assessment in MPNST.

Introduction: Cytoreductive surgery with hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (CRS/HIPEC) can improve survival in colorectal cancer (CRC) patients with peritoneal carcinomatosis (PC). The presence of synchronous liver metastases (LMs) often precludes patients from CRS/HIPEC; however, multiple studies suggest that CRS/HIPEC with liver-directed treatments may be beneficial. This systematic review examines outcomes and selection factors in CRC patients with PC and LM treated with CRS/HIPEC and liver-directed therapy.

Dental oncology, a vital branch of special care dentistry, addresses the oral health needs of patients undergoing cancer treatment. This narrative review explores the critical role of dentists specializing in cancer care, known as "onco-dentists," in managing the unique oral complications caused by cancer therapies, including chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and surgery. These treatments often lead to a range of oral health issues, such as mucositis, xerostomia, dental caries, periodontal disease, and trismus, significantly impacting a patient's quality of life and potentially disrupting cancer care.

Radioligand therapy (RLT) has garnered significant attention due to the recent emergence of innovative and effective theranostic agents, which showed promising therapeutic and prognostic results in various cancers. Moreover, understanding the interaction between different types of radiation and biological tissues is essential for optimizing therapeutic interventions These concepts directly apply to clinical RLTs and play a crucial role in determining the efficacy and toxicity profile of different radiopharmaceutical agents. Personalized dosimetry is a powerful tool that aids in estimating patient-specific absorbed doses in both tumors and normal organs.

Cardiac metastases are rare but devastating complications of malignancies. Squamous cell carcinoma (SCC), particularly from non-pulmonary origins, infrequently metastasizes to the heart, making its cardiac involvement an unusual and underreported phenomenon. We present a case series of four patients diagnosed with myocardial and endocardial metastases from SCC at our center over two years.
