Introduction: Holmium laser enucleation of the prostate (HoLEP) is considered the best treatment for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). This procedure offers effective symptom relief across varying prostate sizes.

Aim: This study aimed to evaluate preoperative and postoperative outcomes of HoLEP in patients with different prostate volumes in a multicenter comparative analysis conducted in Jordan.

We evaluate sperm retrieval outcomes in first-time and repeated micro-TESE, identifying predictors of success to guide clinical management.

Material And Methods: Retrospective study analyzed 152 men with nonobstructive azoospermia (NOA) who underwent micro-TESE between 2020 and 2022.

Long short term memory networks for predicting resilient Modulus of stabilized base material subject to wet-dry cycles.

The resilient modulus (M) of different pavement materials is one of the most important input parameters for the mechanistic-empirical pavement design approach. The dynamic triaxial test is the most often used method for evaluating the M, although it is expensive, time-consuming, and requires specialized lab facilities. The purpose of this study is to establish a new model based on Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) networks for predicting the M of stabilized base materials with various additives during wet-dry cycles (WDC).

Minimally invasive spleen-preserving surgery to treat primary splenic hydatidosis: short and long-term outcomes: a cohort study.

Background: Primary splenic hydatidosis, a rare manifestation of Echinococcus granulosus infection, presents unique diagnostic and therapeutic challenges. This study compares spleen-preserving surgeries with total splenectomy for treating primary splenic hydatid cysts, focusing on short- and long-term outcomes in the Jordanian context, a region particularly affected by this condition.

Methods: This retrospective analysis was conducted on 18 patients diagnosed with primary splenic hydatid cysts at two Jordanian hospitals from January 2015 to June 2021.

Mixed epithelial and stromal tumor of the kidney: A case report in elderly male patient.

Mixed epithelial and stromal tumor (MEST) is very rare neoplasm of the kidney, commonly affecting women at menopausal age. MEST is usually considered a benign tumor with low risk of local recurrence or distance metastases. Our case presents a case of a 66 years old male patient with a complex cystic lesion of the left kidney incidentally diagnosed on urinary tract computerized scan (CT) performed for other reasons.

The accuracy of multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging (mpMRI) heavily relies on image quality, as evidenced by the evolution of the prostate imaging quality (PI-QUAL) scoring system for the evaluation of clinically significant prostate cancer (csPC). This study aims to evaluate the impact of PI-QUAL scores in detecting csPC within PI-RADS 4 and 5 lesions. We retrospectively selected from our database all mpMRI performed from January 2019 to March 2022.

Is Full Scrubbing Necessary Before Short Endourological Procedures to Reduce the Risk of Post-Operative Infection? A Retrospective Cross-Sectional Study.

Endoscopic surgery is now increasingly taking the place of open surgery in urology. Traditionally, endourological procedures are classified as clean-contaminated because the genitourinary tract is colonized by micro-flora, even in the case of sterile urine. The aim of this study was to determine whether a difference occurs in the infection rate after short endourological procedures using standard scrubbing and partial scrubbing techniques before the operations.

A randomized clinical trial: timing of indwelling urethral catheter removal following transurethral resection of prostate.

We aimed to evaluate early versus delayed removal of the indwelling urethral catheter (IUC) following transurethral resection of prostate (TURP). In this clinical trial conducted between July 2016 and June 2020, 90 patients underwent TURP were randomized equally into: group A, early IUC removal (24 h), and group B, delayed IUC removal (72 h). The mean length of hospital stay was longer among the patients in group B.

Introduction: Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) is a type of urological malignancy that affects approximately 2% of the global population. Imaging modalities, especially computed tomography (CT) scanning, play a critical role in diagnosing RCC. In this study, we investigated whether there is a relationship between tumour grade of clear cell RCC and HU values of renal lesions on CT scan performed before operation.

Predicting California bearing ratio of HARHA-treated expansive soils using Gaussian process regression.

The California bearing ratio (CBR) is one of the basic subgrade strength characterization properties in road pavement design for evaluating the bearing capacity of pavement subgrade materials. In this research, a new model based on the Gaussian process regression (GPR) computing technique was trained and developed to predict CBR value of hydrated lime-activated rice husk ash (HARHA) treated soil. An experimental database containing 121 data points have been used.

Adherence to guidelines in the follow-up of non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer among urology trainers and trainees in Jordan: a cross-sectional study.

Unlabelled: To assess the clinical practice in the follow-up of non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC) among urology specialists (trainers) and residents (trainees) in Jordan.

Methods: An electronic questionnaire containing, in addition to demographic data, four questions regarding the follow-up of NMIBC was sent by e-mail to 115 urologists (53 residents and 62 specialists) selected randomly by stratified random sampling from different clinical institutions, 105 of them were returned complete.

Results: In all, 105 out of 115 (91%) questionnaires were returned complete.

Does post-void residual urine volume affect potential recurrence risk for non-muscle invasive bladder cancer?

Aim: Bladder cancer is the second most common urological malignancy after prostate cancer. Increase in the post-void residual (PVR) volume may result in an increase in the risk of cancer recurrence.

Methods: Patient demographic data, tumor stage and grade, PVR volume and 2 years follow-up data for recurrence were obtained and evaluated.

Unintended Foley's catheter placement into the ureter: A case report.

Introduction: Foleys catheter insertion is among the most common urological procedures performed by urologists.

Case Presentation: Here we present a case diagnosed with neurogenic bladder before 3 years and she was on long-term indwelling Foleys catheter since that due to urge incontinence and changes her catheter regularly every 10 to12 weeks, where the tip of the catheter was found in the right vesico-ureteric junction with hydronephrosis of the right kidney.

Discussion: The two most commonly encountered complications of Foley catheter placement are urethral injury and retention of the Foley balloon in the urethra.

This study explored which factors affected the level of anxiety during the time of the first wave of COVID-19 and subsequent quarantine in a substantial proportion of 23 countries, included in this study. The data was collected from May to August 2020 (5 June 2020).

Objectives: Worldwide the COVID-19 pandemic has negatively affected the health and psychosocial lives of people. International guidelines recommend special attention to pregnant women during pandemics and national emergencies. This study aimed to report the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic curfew on the psychosocial lives of pregnant women in Jordan.

Prediction of Rockfill Materials' Shear Strength Using Various Kernel Function-Based Regression Models-A Comparative Perspective.

The mechanical behavior of the rockfill materials (RFMs) used in a dam's shell must be evaluated for the safe and cost-effective design of embankment dams. However, the characterization of RFMs with specific reference to shear strength is challenging and costly, as the materials may contain particles larger than 500 mm in diameter. This study explores the potential of various kernel function-based Gaussian process regression (GPR) models to predict the shear strength of RFMs.

Continuous Saline Bladder Irrigation in Reducing Recurrence and Progression When Compared to Immediate Mitomycin- C Instillation Post- Resection of Bladder Tumor: A Short Communication.

Introduction: Intravesical chemotherapy instillation by mitomycin - C (MMC) immediately after transurethral resection of bladder tumor (TURBT), although effective in reducing the incidence of non- muscle invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC) recurrence, can result in non desirable effects like bladder irritation and hematuria . Continuous bladder irrigation with saline post resection has been studied as an alternative. In our study we  compare the rates of  NMIBC recurrence and progression in patients who were treated with either MMC or CSBI immediately after tumor resection.
