Although the use of thermoplastic polyurethane (Tpu) nanofiber mats as wound dressings is of great interest due to their mechanical properties, they are hindered by their poor wettability and bioavailability. Sporadic Alzheimer's disease (SAD) represents a major health concern especially among elderly. Noteworthy, neuroinflammation and oxidative stress are highly implicated in AD pathogenesis resulting in enhanced disease progression. Moreover, most of the available anti-Alzheimer drugs have several adverse effects with variable efficacy, therefore new strategies, including agents with anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects, are encouraged.

The anti-cancer and anti-bacterial potential of the Red Sea sponge in its bulk (crude extracts) and gold nanostructure (loaded on gold nanaoparticles) were investigated. Metabolomics analysis was conducted, and subsequently, molecular modeling studies were conducted to explore and anticipate the secondary metabolites and their potential target for their various bioactivities. Acne vulgaris, a prevalent skin condition, arises from an imbalance in skin flora, fostering bacterial overgrowth. Addressing this issue, clindamycin molecularly imprinted polymeric nanoparticles (Clin-MIP) loaded onto polyurethane nanofiber scaffolds were developed for acne treatment. Cytochrome P450 (CYP450) is a group of enzymes that play an essential role in Phase I metabolism, with 57 functional genes classified into 18 families in the human genome, of which the CYP1, CYP2, and CYP3 families are prominent. Beyond drug metabolism, CYP enzymes metabolize endogenous compounds such as lipids, proteins, and hormones to maintain physiological homeostasis. Background And Objectives: Oral lichen planus (OLP) is a common, prevalent, immune-mediated, inflammatory disease affecting both the skin and oral mucosa and is considered one of the potentially malignant diseases. Since OLP is regarded as an immunologically mediated disease, some studies suggest the use of vitamin D (VD) for its management as it exhibits immune-modulatory, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial properties, as well as anti-proliferative, pro-differentiative, and anti-angiogenic effects. VD has demonstrated a suppressive effect on TH1 pro-inflammatory cytokines, including IFN-γ while augmenting the secretion of anti-inflammatory cytokines.

Felodipine has proven to be effective as an atherosclerosis therapy because it increases blood flow to the vessel wall. A series of novel coumarin-thiazoles was designed and synthesized as a possible CDK2 inhibitor with anticancer activity with low toxicity. The design relied on having hydrazine thiazole or its open-form thioamide to form H-bonds with the ATP binding site while coumarin maintained the crucial hydrophobic interactions for proper fitting. The biological evaluation revealed that the hydroxycoumarin-thiazole derivative 6c demonstrated the best inhibition with HepG2 and HCT116 IC 2.

This work tackles targeting both acetylcholinesterase (AChE) and BuChE with a multitarget-directed ligand (MTDL) through design, synthesis, and biological and in silico evaluation of a series of twenty eight new 5-substituted-2-anilino-1,3,4-oxadiazole derivatives 4a-g, 5a-g, 9a-g and 13a-g dual inhibitors of the target biomolecules. In vitro cholinesterases inhibition and selectivity assay of the synthesized derivatives showed excellent nanomolar level inhibitory activities.

Objective: A recent study was designed to ascertain the impact of extracorporeal shock wave therapy on upper trapezius trigger points in cervicogenic headaches patients.
Design: A double-blinded randomized controlled trial study, in which 50 participants (11 male and 39 female) aged between 20-40 with cervicogenic headache were subdivided with randomization to group (A), which received traditional physical therapy and sham shock wave therapy, and group (B), which received traditional physical therapy and actual shock wave therapy. All assessments were performed by a therapist before and after the treatment program (4 wks).
