The development of multifunctional nanoplatforms capable of drug delivery and real-time cellular imaging remains a key challenge in cancer theranostics. Herein, we report the development of a casein-protected maleic acid-derived nitrogen-doped carbon dot-based luminescent nanoplatform (MNCD@Cas NPs) for efficient delivery of the anticancer drug doxorubicin hydrochloride (DOX) to triple-negative breast cancer cells. Synthesized via a facile two-step method, the MNCD@Cas NPs exhibit bright blue fluorescence (λ = 390 nm), high water dispersibility, excellent colloidal stability, and substantial DOX loading capacity (∼84%) driven by electrostatic interactions.

Selective reduction of heteroaromatic compounds to partially hydrogenated, dearomatized molecules is a tantalizing task. A well-defined, air stable, and pyridine-based Cu(II) NNN pincer complex is developed, which catalyzes selective 1,2-reduction of quinolines. The unstable 1,2-hydrogenated quinolines are transformed into the corresponding amides and isolated in good yields.

Actin cytoskeleton alteration and cell homing/migration are crucial determinants for the success of stem cell (SC) based therapy. Photobiomodulation (PBM) is a promising non-pharmacological approach for modulating SC potency. Though ~660 nm is the most studied wavelength for the proliferation/differentiation of SCs, the migration and cytoskeleton remodeling aspects have not been investigated in detail.

Background: Cancer cells, which rely heavily on mitochondria for their energy demands and oncometabolites, have a high mitochondrial load, often associated with an aggressive, invasive, and metastatic phenotype. Mitochondrial ROS (mtROS), which play a causal role in cancer, represent the Achilles' heel of cancer since excessive mtROS causes protein misfolding/aggregation, resulting in cell death via proteotoxic stress. Furthermore, the detailed underlying mechanism(s) of mitochondrial oxidative stress-induced cell death remain obscure.

Photosynthetic organisms often rely on two-component regulatory system to adapt to environmental changes. This system is crucial for connecting external signals with the response mechanism by controlling gene expression, eventually allowing the organism to acclimatize to various stresses. Cyanobacteria, in particular, possess a large number of these two-component systems.

Tetrapyrrolic macrocycles coordinated to redox-active main-group elements, particularly from groups 14 and 15, have emerged as efficient photocatalysts for substrate oxidation under ambient conditions. Among group 15 elements, antimony commonly adopts +III and +V oxidation states and forms stable high-valent complexes with porphyrinoid ligands such as corroles, which readily accommodate diverse axial ligands (, O-, N-, and S-donors). Antimony corrole complexes exhibit considerable promise across diverse fields, including catalysis, biomedicine, and advanced dielectric and optoelectronic applications.
