Background: Postmenopausal osteoporosis (PMOP) was accompanied by iron overload and low levels of calcium (Ca), phosphorus (Pi) and magnesium (Mg), which required downregulating iron and upregulating Ca/Pi/Mg simultaneously. It was confirmed that Ligustri Lucidi Fructus (FLL) had the ability to repair above minerals metabolism bidirectionally, but its pharmacological substance and mechanism were obscure. Previous research revealed the different ratio of Phenylethanols, Iridoids and Triterpenoids in FLL lead to its efficacy changes in anti-PMOP.

Measurement While Drilling (MWD) technology plays a significant role in enhancing the geological steering and subsurface evaluation capabilities of extended-reach wells, challenging horizontal wells, and multilateral wells. With the increasing complexity of underground exploration, there is a heightened demand for the continuous wave mud pulse data transmission capacity. To address the inter-symbol interference(ISI) caused by the inherent inertia of the motor during high-speed data transmission using traditional modulation methods such as Frequency Shift Keying (FSK) and Phase Shift Keying (PSK), a novel approach has been proposed.

Efficient Brain Tumor Segmentation for MRI Images Using YOLO-BT.

Sensors (Basel)

June 2025

School of Electronic Information and Electrical Engineering, Yangtze University, Jingzhou 434023, China.

Aiming at the problems of inaccurate segmentation and low detection efficiency caused by irregular tumor shape and large size differences in brain MRI images, this study proposes a brain tumor segmentation algorithm, YOLO-BT, based on YOLOv11. YOLO-BT uses UNetV2 as the backbone network to enhance the feature extraction ability of key regions through the attention mechanism. The BiFPN structure is introduced into the neck network to replace the traditional feature splicing method, realize the two-way fusion of cross-scale features, improve detection accuracy, and reduce the amount of calculations required.

Blue Light Exposure Caused Large-Scale Transcriptional Changes in the Abdomen and Reduced the Reproductive Fitness of the Fall Armyworm .

Insects

December 2023

Key Laboratory of Forest Disaster Warning and Control in Yunnan Province, Faculty of Biodiversity Conservation, Southwest Forestry University, Kunming 650224, China.

In the present study, we found that blue light stress negatively affected the development periods, body weight, survival and reproduction of , and it showed a dose-dependent reaction, as longer irradiation caused severer effects. Further transcriptome analysis found blue light stress induced fast and large-scale transcriptional changes in the head, thorax and, particularly, the abdomen of female adults. A functional enrichment analysis indicated that shorter durations of blue light irradiation induced the upregulation of more stress response- and defense-related genes or pathways, such as abiotic stimuli detection and response, oxidative stress, ion channels and protein-kinase-based signal pathways.

Iron overload is a risk factor for postmenopausal osteoporosis (PMOP) and lowering iron levels to regulate the labile plasma iron is the preferred therapy. Icariin (ICA), baohuoside I (BHS) and icaritin (ICT) are three flavonoids obtained from Epimedii Folium that are efficient in facilitating osteogenesis. In this study, an active flavonoid with dual effects of reversing iron overload and promoting osteogenesis was screened based on pharmacokinetics, iron complexation properties and the potential to downregulate iron overload, reversing PMOP.

Ethnopharmacological Relevance: Panacis Quinquefolii Radix (PQR) is often illegally sulfur fumigated to extend shelf life and improve appearance, but existing regulations of detecting SO residues do not accurately identify desulfurized sulfur-fumigated PQR (SF-PQR). Although sulfur-containing derivatives (SCDs) have been reported in some sulfur-fumigated herbs, there is a lack of research on the generation mechanisms and toxicity of SCDs. Our previous study reported the nephrotoxicity of SF-PQR, and there is an urgent necessity to illuminate the mechanism of toxicity as well as its association with SCDs.

Pipette tip-based solid phase extraction (PT-SPE) has been proved to be an effective and user-friendly separation technique due to its miniaturized procedure and practical convenience. However, the vast majority of existing PT-SPE devices consist of a filter-sorbents-filter sandwich structure, which may suffer the unforeseen risk of sorbents leakage caused by the looseness of filters. More importantly, many high-capacity nanosorbents with particle size smaller than pore size of filters are unavailable.

June 2018

Shanghai Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau, Shanghai 200135, China.

We established a system for the simultaneous extraction and cleaning of 99 veterinary drugs from food by ultra-performance liquid chromatography coupled with quadrupole electrostatic field-orbital trap-high-resolution mass spectrometry (UHPLC-Q-Orbitrap HRMS). The system is based on the supported liquid-liquid extraction technology through one-off pretreatment, which covers the common eight categories of physical and chemical properties, and the extraction and purification of 99 different veterinary drug residues. At the same time, the one-step multi residue screening of 99 veterinary drug residues has been realized using HRMS.
