Division of Pulmonary Medicine, the First Affiliated Hospital, Wenzhou Medical University, Wenzhou Key Laboratory of Interdisciplinary and Translational Medicine, Wenzhou Key Laboratory of Heart and Lung, Wenzhou, Zhejiang 325000, China. Electronic address:

Lung cancer remains the leading cause of cancer-related mortality worldwide. The need for cost-effective, non-invasive methods to detect specific gene mutations for targeted therapy and predict patient survival outcomes underscores the importance of advancing diagnostic and prognostic capabilities. Contemporary lung cancer diagnostic models often fail to integrate diverse patient data, leading to incomplete clinical assessments.

Artificial intelligence makes strides in specialized diagnostics but faces challenges in complex clinical scenarios, such as rare disease diagnosis and emergency condition identification. To address these limitations, we develop Meta General Practitioner (MetaGP), a 32-billion-parameter generative foundation model trained on extensive datasets, including over 8 million electronic health records, biomedical literature, and medical textbooks. MetaGP demonstrates robust diagnostic capabilities, achieving accuracy comparable to experienced clinicians.

Hexahistidine-metal assembly encapsulated fibroblast growth factor 21 for lipopolysaccharide-induced acute lung injury.

Eur J Pharm Biopharm

Intervention Department, The First Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University, Wenzhou, Zhejiang 325000, China. Electronic address:

Acute lung injury (ALI)/acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) represents a spectrum of potentially fatal conditions that currently lack effective drug treatment. Recent researches suggest that Fibroblast Growth Factor 21 (FGF21) may protect against ALI/ARDS. However, the clinical use of FGF21 is limited by its rapid degradation, restricted targeting capabilities, and numerous adverse effects.

MicroRNA (miRNA) represents a class of important potential biomarkers, and their intracellular imaging is extremely useful for fundamental research and early diagnosis of human cancers. Hybridization chain reaction (HCR) has been shown to be effective in detecting miRNA in living cells. However, its practical applications are still hampered by inefficient reaction kinetics and poor biological stability under complex intracellular conditions.

Division of Pulmonary Medicine, The First Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University, Wenzhou Key Laboratory of Interdiscipline and Translational Medicine, Wenzhou Key Laboratory of Heart and Lung, Wenzhou, Zhejiang, 325000, China. Electronic address:

We attempted to investigate the role of HOXB7 in tumor progression and evolution by means of an extensive computer screening analysis of various cancer types. We performed univariate Cox regression and Kaplan-Meier survival analyses to assess the impact of HOXB7 on overall survival (OS), disease-specific survival (DSS), and progression-free interval (PFI) in different types of cancer. Furthermore, we examined the relationship between HOXB7 and several clinical features: tumor microenvironment, immune regulatory genes, immune checkpoints, tumor mutational burden (TMB), and microsatellite instability (MSI).

Aims: Acute lung injury (ALI) is a life-threatening lung disease characterized by inflammatory cell infiltration and lung epithelial injury. Icariside II (ICS II), one of the main active ingredients of Herba Epimedii, exhibits anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory effects. However, the effect and mechanism of ICS II in ALI remain unclear.

Division of Pulmonary Medicine, the First Affiliated Hospital, Wenzhou Medical University, Wenzhou Key Laboratory of Interdiscipline and Translational Medicine, Wenzhou Key Laboratory of Heart and Lung, Wenzhou, Zhejiang, China. Electronic address:

Noncoding RNAs have been shown to play essential roles in hypoxic pulmonary hypertension (HPH). Our preliminary data showed that HPH is attenuated by fibroblast growth factor 21 (FGF21) administration. Therefore, we further investigated the whole transcriptome RNA expression patterns and interactions in a mice HPH model treated with FGF21.

Division of Pulmonary Medicine, the First Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University, Key Laboratory of Interdiscipline and Translational Medicine, Wenzhou, Key Laboratory of Heart and Lung, Zhejiang 325000, China. Electronic address:

Lung cancer is the most common cause of cancer related deaths worldwide with the highest mortality rate. Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) accounts for about 85 % of lung cancers. Mitochondrial methylenetetrahydrofolate dehydrogenase 2 (MTHFD2) is a bifunctional enzyme and is the most differentially expressed metabolic enzyme in various tumors including lung cancer.

Background: Lung cancer is one of the most common types of malignant tumor. It has one of the highest morbidity and mortality rates worldwide, and approximately 85% of cases are non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Clinically, several EGFR inhibitors have been used to treat NSCLC, but resistance can develop.

Lung cancer is a part of the commonest malignancies with the highest mortality rate in cancer-related deaths worldwide. Signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3) and cyclin-dependent kinases (CDKs) are promising prognostic marker and therapeutic target in cancers. Our previous study has demonstrated the closely relationship between CDK9 and STAT3 in lung cancer.

FGF/FGFR signaling: From lung development to respiratory diseases.

Cytokine Growth Factor Rev

December 2021

Division of Pulmonary Medicine, The First Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University, Key Laboratory of Heart and Lung, Wenzhou, Zhejiang 325000, China. Electronic address:

The fibroblast growth factor/fibroblast growth factor receptor (FGF/FGFR) signaling system regulates a variety of biological processes, including embryogenesis, angiogenesis, wound repair, tissue homeostasis, and cancer. It exerts these regulatory functions by controlling proliferation, differentiation, migration, survival, and metabolism of target cells. The morphological structure of the lung is a complex tree-like network for effective oxygen exchange, and the airway terminates in the middle and distal ends of many alveoli.
