Article Abstract

The understanding and management of the optical behavior of dielectric/metal/dielectric (DMD)-based electrodes are crucial for the design of fully transparent OLEDs. Specifically, the chromatic stability with the viewing angle of white OLED emission remains an important issue due to the angle dependence of internal reflection at the organic/electrode interface as the wavelength varies. The purpose of the present work is to provide a complete analysis of the optical behavior of DMD structures by Variable Angle Spectroscopic Ellipsometry in order to optimize the transmittance of DMD-based transparent white OLEDs over a wide viewing angle. The analysis of the optical modes contributing to power dissipation reveals that the reduction of plasmonic and waveguided modes is related to the antireflection properties of the DMD electrode. This results in a simultaneous significant improvement in the absolute value of the transmittance across the full visible spectral range and in the color stability of white OLED emission over a wide viewing cone of 120°, thus paving the way for a new generation of transparent white lighting sources.

Construction of an Ag-functionalized structural color hydrogel sensor for colorimetric detection of glutathione.

An Ag-functionalized structural color hydrogel (Ag-SCH) sensor is constructed for colorimetric detection of glutathione (GSH). The hydrogel is prepared by using the coordination of Ag and 1-vinylimidazole (1-VI) as cross-linking network. GSH acts as a competitive ligand to break the coordination between Ag and 1-VI, leading to the expansion and structural color change of the hydrogel.

Zinc Phosphate Passivation Enables Photostable Pixelated Quantum Dot Color Conversion Layers for Display Applications.

Quantum dots (QDs) converted to micro light-emitting diodes (LEDs) have emerged as a promising technology for next-generation display devices. However, their commercial application has been hindered by the susceptibility of QDs to photodegradation when directly exposed to an open environment. Here, we develop functional ligand zinc bis[2-(methacryloyloxy)ethyl] phosphate (Zn(BMEP)) to passivate QD surface anions through a phosphine-mediated surface reaction.

Rationale: Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) is a life-support technology for refractory cardiac arrest, but the massive blood transfusions required during treatment significantly increase the risk of transfusion-related infections. Hepatitis E virus (HEV) - traditionally linked to fecal-oral transmission - is increasingly recognized as a transfusion-transmitted pathogen, especially in emergency settings where urgent blood product infusion is common and routine HEV screening in blood banks is often lacking. However, nursing strategies for managing acute HEV infection after ECMO remain poorly defined, highlighting the need to address this clinical gap.

In this study, yak bone collagen peptide-tea polyphenol binding peptides (YCP/TP) were successfully prepared and investigated for their positive effects in replacing nitrite to improve the color, texture, flavor and bacterial community structure of fermented sausages. Results showed that YCP/TP primarily binds through hydrogen bond interactions, enhancing its stability and functional properties. The YCP/TP can effectively inhibit the increase in pH, protein carbonyls and TBARS (p < 0.

This study presents a biopreservation method using sourdough co-fermented with Fructilactobacillus sanfranciscensis and Propionibacterium freudenreichii, optimizing conditions to 220 hydration and 24 h fermentation. The composite sourdough bread quality was evaluated through physicochemical, storage, sensory, and microbial tests, with mechanisms analyzed based on microstructure, rheology, and dough structure. Results showed that: first, the composite sourdough enhanced bread physicochemical properties, increasing volume, height-to-diameter ratio, elasticity, and resilience, while reducing baking loss, hardness, chewiness, and adhesiveness.
