Celiac disease (CD) is a chronic autoimmune disorder triggered by gluten ingestion, causing intestinal damage and systemic complications. Essential amino acids (EAAs) play crucial roles in immune function, intestinal integrity, and metabolic regulation; however, their malabsorption in CD contributes to disease progression. Tryptophan dysregulation may influence mood disorders in CD, while phenylalanine and lysine are linked to immune activation and gluten modification.

Identifying novel therapeutic targets and drugs is crucial for treating triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC). Bufalin, a key active ingredient of the traditional Chinese medicine HuaChansu, has been employed in tumor therapy. Here, SPR-LC-MS/MS is employed to characterize the targets of Bufalin and found that serine/threonine kinase 33 (STK33) possesses a strong binding affinity to Bufalin.

Non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), a progressive form of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, is characterized by steatosis, inflammation, and fibrosis. Mitochondrial dysfunction plays a key role in its development. Methylation-controlled J protein (MCJ), a negative regulator of mitochondrial respiration, promotes oxidative stress and lipid buildup, while its deficiency enhances mitochondrial function.

Zinc (Zn) deficiency poses a major global health challenge, and wheat grains generally contain low Zn concentrations. In this study, the wheat cultivar 'Zhongmai 175' was identified as zinc-efficient. Hydroponic experiments demonstrated that Zn deficiency induced the secretion of oxalic acid and malic acid in root exudates and significantly increased total root length in 'Zhongmai 175'.

Saline-alkali soil poses a severe threat to the cultivation and yield of soybean, which is an important oilseed and staple crop. As a key metabolic intermediate, S-adenosyl-L-methionine (SAM) and its associated methyltransferases (SAMMTs) play crucial but poorly understood roles in plant stress responses. This study investigated the expression of SAM-depend methyltransferase (SAMMt) family in soybean.
