For the purpose of estimating the influence of reservoir pore structure, composition, imbibition fluid type, and fluid pressure on imbibition fluid amount and imbibition rate, parallel subsamples of Longmaxi Shale in southeast Chongqing were selected to carry out imbibition experiments on five kinds of solutions under pressures of 10 and 0.1 MPa. The amount of imbibition fluid entering the reservoir sample is closely related to the porosity. With the increase in imbibition time, the saturation of imbibition fluid in large pores first increases rapidly, then increases slowly, and finally tends to stabilize. The imbibition fluid amounts decrease with the increase in clay and carbonate mineral contents and increase with the increase of felsic mineral content. The trend lines of imbibition saturation in micro, medium, and macropores of the same sample with imbibition time under the five types of imbibition solutions are the same or similar. The rate and amount of imbibition fluid have little correlation with the type of imbibition solution. The higher the fluid pressure, the faster the imbibition fluid enters the sample and the larger the amount of imbibition fluid.

The imbibition of water into the pores of tight oil/gas reservoir can displace the oil/gas out. Thus it is an important method to improve the recovery efficiency of tight shale gas and oil. This paper investigated the influence of four main dimensionless parameters on the spontaneous imbibition based on a pores distribution of a real shale sample.

Salt precipitation, driven by CO-induced brine dry-out in deep saline formations, poses a significant risk to the long-term efficiency and safety of geological carbon storage. We developed a porous media lab-on-a-chip platform that mimics intrinsic heterogeneity by embedding small-scale features into a high-permeability matrix. The model effectively reproduces dual-permeability zones with permeability values comparable to real rock samples.

Microneedle technology has emerged as a potential new means of painless drug delivery for diabetic patients. Maintaining blood glucose levels (BGLs) within the normal range for a long time is important for people with diabetes. However, it is a new challenge to realize long-term therapy due to insufficient drug loading.

In recent years, tight oil has emerged as a significant and complex topic in the fields of oil exploration and development. Following hydraulic fracturing, wells are typically shut-in for a designated period to facilitate water uptake into shale formations, which has become the predominant method for developing tight oil resources. During this process, initial pressure-specifically the shut-in pressure post-fracturing-plays a crucial role in ensuring imbibition recovery and determining shut-in duration.

Delayed tendon injuries of the hand often require auto tendon grafts, the success depending largely on tendon type, its own synovial cover or provided by tendon bed, and tendon bed vascularity. Tendon graft healing has been extensively studied, where tendon does increase its vascular response to trauma, attrition, or degeneration. Initially surviving through synovial fluid imbibition, followed by vascular invasion from surrounding tissues.
