Recent studies have highlighted the prebiotic potential of natural plant polysaccharides, demonstrating their role in promoting beneficial gut microbiota and improving health. However, research on the digestive properties and prebiotic activities of (IRPs) remains limited. This study investigated fresh as the research object. After processing, dry and carbonized were prepared. Three polysaccharides from the fresh, dry, and carbonized were extracted with traditional hot water. And another polysaccharide was obtained by cold water extraction from fresh . Total four IRPs were extracted and named: IRPs-F, IRPs-D, IRPs-C, and IRPs-J. This study evaluated the prebiotic activity of four polysaccharides derived from the roots of thatch, demonstrating their resistance to digestion, their ability to promote probiotic growth, and their enhancement of short-chain fatty acid (SCFA) production. The final results show that four IRPs exhibit strong resistance to digestion and IRPs-F ability to promote the growth of beneficial probiotics, making it a promising candidate for functional foods aimed at improving intestinal health, immune regulation, and metabolic benefits. This research is highly relevant to food microbiology and holds significant potential for application in the functional food and gut health sectors.

Introduction: Straw return combined with rational nitrogen (N) fertilization plays a critical role in coordinating the transformation of soil organic carbon and nitrogen availability, thereby improving nitrogen use efficiency (NUE), crop yield, and soil fertility. However, the dynamics of soil carbon and nitrogen fractions under straw return with varying N inputs, and their specific contributions to NUE and yield, remain unclear.

Chemical absorption of carbon dioxide using monoethanolamine (MEA) is a well-established method for postcombustion CO capture. In this study, we aimed to integrate (1) the MEA-based CO capture with the regeneration of MEA using calcium-based mineralization, followed by (2) direct utilization of captured CO to form syngas via a calcium looping-based dry reforming of methane (CaL-DRM), an interfacial catalytic process. The results show that room-temperature CO capture-MEA regeneration was achievable by using calcium-based mineralization.

Gas flux ( and production) is related to DMI; however, there is limited information regarding the use of gas flux production when estimating DMI in growing steers.
