Background: Human papillomavirus (HPV) testing is the primary method for cervical cancer screening, but reliable detection depends on adequate sample cellularity. Cycle threshold (Ct) values for the assay's internal control (IC), such as β-globin, are commonly used as proxies for adequacy, yet standardized Ct cut-offs are lacking. We aimed to contribute evidence-based thresholds for sample adequacy using real-world data.

Objective: Rare diseases collectively affect approximately 30 million people in the United States. Despite advances in genomic medicine, early diagnosis is challenging because of limited awareness of, accessibility to, and disparities in health care resources. We assessed the real-world experiences of patients with rare diseases in Pennsylvania and evaluated the effect of delayed diagnosis on psychosocial and financial burdens.

Introduction: Numerical optimization plays a key role in improving the efficiency of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems and solving complex engineering problems. Traditional optimization methods often struggle with finding optimal solutions within a reasonable timeframe due to high-dimensional and non-linear problem landscapes.
Objectives: This study aims to introduce a novel swarm intelligence algorithm, the Beaver Behavior Optimizer (BBO), inspired by the cooperative behaviors of beavers during dam construction.

Aptamers are single-stranded DNA or RNA oligonucleotides that can bind to specific target molecules with high affinity and specificity. Fluorescence DNA aptamer-based biosensors (aptasensors) have emerged as powerful analytical tools for detecting diverse targets, ranging from food contaminants to disease biomarkers, owing to their exceptional specificity, high sensitivity, and cost-effectiveness. This review systematically summarizes recent advances in the design strategies of fluorescence aptasensors, focusing on three key approaches: (1) fluorescence resonance energy transfer-based signal amplification, (2) nanomaterial-enhanced probes, and (3) multi-channel platforms for simultaneous detection.
