Article Abstract

Due to the unique advantages of mimicking natural enzymes, nanozymes have received ever-growing interest in a wide range of fields including analytical chemistry in the past two decades. Exploring novel kinds of nanozymes with efficient active sites has always been one of the most important and hot topics in nanozyme-related research so far, especially in portable monitors. Herein, zeolitic imidazolate framework-8 (ZIF-8) incorporated with an organometallic iridium(III) complex as a new active site denoted as Irppy-ZIF-8 obtained a one-pot coordination reaction between the iridium solvent complex and 2-methylimidazole is reported as an efficient peroxidase (POD)-like nanozyme. Importantly, due to the specific inhibition effects of triazine pesticides on the POD-like activities of this novel nanozyme, a portable acetylcholinesterase (AChE)-free colorimetric sensor a smartphone apart from a UV-vis spectrometer to detect triazine pesticides in real vegetable sample analysis is further successfully proposed in this work. It should be noted that this work could not only open up a new avenue to explore novel kinds of nanozymes from organometallic complexes as active sites, but also promote the progress in emerging applications of nanozymes in visual and portable sensors in the future.

Background: Roundworms such as Toxascaris leonina and Toxocara canis are routinely diagnosed in dogs globally, especially in dogs 6 months of age or younger. Toxocara canis is zoonotic, can cause significant disease in dogs, and is the causative agent of toxocariasis in humans. To protect both animal and human health, it is imperative that Toxocara canis infections are effectively treated and controlled to minimize the risk of transmission.

The treatment of wastewater containing the new insensitive energetic formulation IMX-104, which consists of the legacy explosive RDX and insensitive high explosives (IHE), 2,4-dinitroanisole (DNAN) and 3-nitro-1,2,4-triazole-5-one (NTO), was evaluated using a dual anaerobic-aerobic membrane bioreactor system. RDX and DNAN in the wastewater were completely degraded in the anaerobic MBR, with no observed production of common reduced daughter products (e.g.

Traditional agricultural techniques for the growth of agricultural demands and global population, such as polyethylene mulch film (PEMF) and herbicide, result in the problems of white pollution and herbicide contamination. Meanwhile, food waste is also a growing problem, producing millions of tons of discarded bread every year. Therein, waste bread was humified into fulvic-like acid (FLA) and K-enriched bread crumb, and then it was mixed with talc powder, gelatin, glycerol, and atrazine (ATZ) to prepare a biodegradable mulch film (FTGG@ATZ) through molecular interaction.

Nanobodies specifically recognizing atrazine were successfully obtained through immunization of alpacas and phage display libraries, and an indirect competitive immunoassay (ic-ELISA) based on nanobodies was constructed with an IC of 0.062 μg/mL and a minimum detection limit of 0.01 μg/mL.

A statistical approach that utilises cumulative distribution functions (CDFs) has proven effective for establishing threshold values that can be used to identify and delineate potential contamination sources in groundwater studies. Although this approach has been widely applied in the hydrogeology field, its application to understand sources of emerging organic contaminants (EOCs) in groundwater research has not yet been explored. This study used CDF approach to establish local EOC threshold values.
