Malachite Green (MG) is an antibiotic with antifungal activity, which is illegal to use in agriculture due to its mutagenic and teratogenic properties. Several scientific papers have been published on MG in fish. Therefore, an attempt was made to determine the meta-analysis concentration of MG in fish based on countries and types of fish subgroups, as well as the health risks of consumers, using the Monte Carlo simulation (MCS) model. The three countries with the highest concentration of MG were Iran (14.697 µg/kg), Brazil (2.840 µg/kg), and China (2.277 µg/kg). The overall pooled concentration of MG in fish was 3.036 µg/kg, 95%CI (2.860-3.212 µg/kg), and the highest concentration of MG was observed in Pacu fish (6.603 µg/kg). The health risk assessment shows adults in Malaysia, China, and Iran and children in Italy, Spain, Brazil, Malaysia, China, and Iran are at considerable risk (MOE <10,000); hence, carrying out control plans in these countries is recommended.

Background And Aim: Synthetic dyes in the textile industry pose risks to human health and environmental safety. The current study aims to examine the efficacy of a novel esterase derived from an endophyte fungus in decolorizing diverse dyes, focusing on its production, purification, optimization, and characterization.
Results: Trichoderma afroharzianum AUMC16433, a novel fungal endophyte with esterase-producing ability, was first detected from the cladodes of Opuntia ficus indica by ITS-rRNA sequencing.

The quantification of orthophosphate is essential for applications like water quality assessment, soil fertility analysis, metabolic monitoring and enzyme activity evaluation. Chemical quantification methods include the reaction between orthophosphate and molybdate under acidic conditions to form 12-molybdophosphoric acid units, which auto-assembles forming nanometer size particles. The adsorption of malachite green to these nanoparticles allows their spectrophotometric detection constituting one of the most widely used methods to quantify phosphate.

Malachite green (MG) is a synthetic triphenylmethane dye originally employed as an industrial colorant in textile, paper, and leather industries. Its subsequent application in aquaculture was driven by its demonstrated antibacterial and antiparasitic properties. However, substantial evidence has revealed its high toxicity, including carcinogenic, teratogenic, and mutagenic effects, posing severe threats to both ecological systems and human health, leading to strict regulations or outright bans in numerous countries.

Laccases, belonging to the superfamily of multicopper oxidases, can perform electron oxidation on a broad range of substrates, releasing only water as a by-product. Although instability and aggregation significantly constrain the industrial use of these eco-friendly biocatalysts, it is a daunting challenge for current engineering strategies to elevate these crucial enzymatic characteristics simultaneously. Here, we developed a cyclizing laccase (CyLacc) using SpyTag/SpyCatcher technology, which endows the enzyme with high thermostability and high solubility.

Unlabelled: Dye-contaminated industrial effluents pose a serious environmental impact and need immediate attention. Due to the significant role of Dye-decolorizing peroxidases (DyPs) producing ligninolytic bacteria in the degradation of various industrial dyes, ligninolytic bacteria were isolated from Similipal Biosphere Reserve, Odisha, and screened for their DyP activities. Six out of 12 isolated bacteria (SDP1-12) showed DyP activity.
