Article Abstract

The development of efficient and robust catalysts for hydrogen evolution reaction is crucial for advancing the hydrogen economy. In this study, we demonstrate that ultra-low coordinated hollow PtRuNi-O nanocages exhibit superior catalytic activity and stability across varied conditions, notably surpassing commercial Pt/C catalysts. Notably, the PtRuNi-O catalysts achieve current densities of 10 mA cm at only 19.6 ± 0.1, 20.9 ± 0.1, and 21.0 ± 0.1 mV in alkaline freshwater, chemical wastewater, and seawater, respectively, while maintaining satisfied stability with minimal activity loss after 40,000 cycles. In situ experiments and theoretical calculations reveal that the ultra-low coordination of Pt, Ru, and Ni atoms creates numerous dangling bonds, which lower the water dissociation barrier and optimizing hydrogen adsorption. This research marks a notable advancement in the precise engineering of atomically dispersed multi-metallic centers in catalysts for energy-related applications.

Foreign Object Debris (FOD) on airport pavements poses a serious threat to aviation safety, making accurate detection and interpretable scene understanding crucial for operational risk management. This paper presents an integrated multi-modal framework that combines an enhanced YOLOv7-X detector, a cascaded YOLO-SAM segmentation module, and a structured prompt engineering mechanism to generate detailed semantic descriptions of detected FOD. Detection performance is improved through the integration of Coordinate Attention, Spatial-Depth Conversion (SPD-Conv), and a Gaussian Similarity IoU (GSIoU) loss, leading to a 3.

The development of sensitive Pb detection platforms are imperative given its severe environmental and health risks, including irreversible bioaccumulation, neurotoxicity, and carcinogenicity. To address this challenge, we engineered an amino-functionalized lanthanide MOF Eu(BDC-NH₂) as a ligand-emission-driven fluorescent probe for Pb quantification. The sensing mechanism originates from coordination-driven host-guest interaction between Pb ions and exposed amino sites of the framework, which induces fluorescence quenching.

Recent advancements in hydrogel electrolytes for aqueous zinc-ion batteries (AZIBs) have drawn considerable interest due to their soft nature, offering potential to overcome challenges including reversibility and flexibility. As the most abundant natural polymer, cellulose is ideal for AZIB hydrogel electrolytes due to rich hydroxyls with stable hydrogen-bonded networks for water retention. However, conventional cellulose hydrogels suffer from low Zn conductivity and insufficient mechanical robustness, usually requiring additional polymers to meet practical demands.

A novel ratiometric fluorescent probe was developed by combining terbium-doped boron/nitrogen co-doped carbon dots (Tb@BNCDs) with thiolated-protected gold nanoclusters (Th@Au NCs) for efficient melamine detection based on a competitive coordination mechanism. The designed system exploits the synergistic effects of aggregation-induced emission (AIE) and Förster resonance energy transfer (FRET) processes. The Tb@BNCDs, formed via coordination of Tb⁺ ions with the amino and carboxyl groups on BNCDs, serve as both a stable fluorescence source and a coordination site for melamine interaction.

A novel photoelectrochemical sensor based on TiO/NiPc/ZIF-67 composite was developed for ammonia (NH) detection in water, showing exceptional sensitivity and selectivity. The sensor was fabricated by depositing TiO, NiPc, and ZIF-67 onto an ITO electrode. Under optimized conditions, it achieved an ultra-low detection limit of 0.
