To investigate the systemic immune-inflammation index and prognostic immune nutritional index in the prognostic evaluation of oral squamous cell carcinoma. We analyzed retrospectively the relationship between systemic immune-inflammation index, prognostic immune nutritional index and clinicopathological variables and the overall survival of 262 patients who underwent radical surgery. Multivariate analysis showed high systemic immune-inflammation index (Hazard ratio = 3.062, 95% CI: 1.021-8.251), low prognostic immune nutritional index (Hazard ratio = 0.297, 95% CI: 0.139-0.636), tumor node metastasis classification 3-4 (Hazard ratio = 9.862, 95% CI: 4.658-20.880) patients have worse overall survival. Preoperative systemic immune-inflammation index and prognostic immune nutritional index are independent risk factors for prognostic survival status in oral squamous cell carcinoma.

Background: Inflammation and hyperuricemia are closely associated with chronic kidney disease (CKD). The systemic inflammation response index (SIRI), systemic immune-inflammation index (SII), monocyte-to-lymphocyte ratio (MLR), neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), and platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR) are emerging as novel biomarkers. While, the synergistic effects of these biomarkers with hyperuricemia on CKD remain unclear.

Background: This study explores potential associations between asthma and the Systemic Immune-Inflammation Index (SII).
Methods: The study primarily focuses on adults with complete data on SII and asthma from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey database (2015-2020). SII is calculated using the formula: platelet count × neutrophil count / lymphocyte count.

Background: The systemic immune-inflammation index (SII) has been a marker and prognostic indicator of several diseases. However, its utility in pregnancy is unknown. Herein, we reviewed the evidence on the ability of SII to predict gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) and preeclampsia (PE).

Background: The prognostic discriminative ability of the pathological tumor-node-metastasis (pTNM) staging system for gastric cancer (GC) still requires further improvement. This study aimed to develop a pTNM-Inflammation (pTNM-I) staging system by integrating pTNM staging with peripheral inflammatory status to enhance the prognostic stratification capability of pTNM.
Methods: This study retrospectively analyzed 4,049 patients who underwent curative surgery for GC.
