Transcranial ultrasound localization microscopy of the rat brain with ray theory-based aberration correction.

Ultrasonics

Transcranial ultrasound localization microscopy (t-ULM) is faced with challenges posed by the skull, including acoustic attenuation and phase aberrations. There is a significant request for an efficient aberration correction method achieving a great balance between computational complexity and accuracy. In this study, the ray theory is first applied to in-vivo transcranial imaging to calculate the traveltime table in the inhomogeneous medium model of the imaging region.

Background & Aims: Circulating proteins are integral to many biological processes and could be influenced by diet. We aimed to assess differences in the plasma proteome between people of different dietary groups, defined by degree of animal food consumption.

Methods: The UK Biobank recruited middle-aged adults (mostly 40-69 years) throughout the UK between 2006 and 2010.

Objective: To synthesise current evidence on electroencephalography-based functional connectivity in preterm infants and clarify how prematurity alters early brain-network maturation.

Methods: A PRISMA-guided search (PubMed and Web of Science, inception-Mar 2025) identified 24 studies that quantified resting-state functional connectivity or graph-theory metrics in infants born <37 weeks' gestation. Study quality was rated with a six-item electroencephalography-functional connectivity checklist (reference montage, epoch length/number, artefact rejection, volume-conduction control, multiple-comparison correction).

Objective: This study presents a comprehensive analysis of electrochemical skin conductance (ESC) values collected from over 1.9 million measurements using Withings Body Scan and Body Comp scales. It aimed at establishing descriptive values for ESC while correcting for the influence of age, sex, and circadian and seasonal variations on sudomotor function.

Directed Structural Evolution of Nickel Nanoparticles into Atomically Dispersed Sites for Efficient CO Electroreduction.

Electrochemical CO reduction (CORR) to carbon monoxide (CO) offers a sustainable pathway for carbon utilization, yet challenges remain in terms of improving selectivity and activity. Herein, we report a Ni/NC catalyst synthesized via a milling - pyrolysis method, in which Ni particles anchored on nitrogen-doped carbon (NC) are electrochemically activated under an Ar atmosphere, leading to their structural evolution into single-atom Ni sites. After activation in Ar atmosphere, the current density nearly doubles (from ≈30 to ≈60 mA cm), and concurrently, the Faradaic efficiency of CO stays at ∼90% with the potential set to -0.
