Aluminum (Al) is a cost-effective alternative to noble metals for plasmonics, particularly in the ultraviolet (UV) and visible regions. However, in the near-infrared (NIR) region, its performance is hindered by interband transitions (IBTs) at around 825 nm, leading to increased optical losses and broad resonances. Surface lattice resonances (SLRs) offer a promising solution by enhancing the plasmonic quality factor (-factor) through coherent coupling of localized surface plasmon (LSP) modes with Rayleigh anomalies.

Phosphorus is recognized as a major pollutant in municipal and domestic wastewater, but the effective removal of organic phosphorus (OP) using conventional wastewater treatment technologies is difficult. Herein, a novel visible light-enhanced Ti electrocoagulation (EC) technology was proposed for the removal of OP using 2-amino-ethyl phosphonic acid (AEP) as a model compound to elucidate the removal efficiency and mechanisms. The results showed that the irradiation under visible light (670 Lux) effectively enhanced the removal of AEP by Ti EC.

Lithium‑sulfur batteries (LSBs) are promising alternatives to lithium-ion batteries due to their high energy density and low cost. However, issues like the lithium polysulfide (LiPSs) shuttle effect, lithium dendrite growth, and flammable electrolytes hinder commercialization. In this study, we have developed a metal-based catalyst, bismuth oxychloride (BiOCl) nanoflowers coated with conductive polypyrrole (Bi@Ppy), via hydrothermal synthesis.

Microplastics (MPs) have emerged as widespread environmental pollutants in aquatic ecosystems, primarily due to the extensive use of plastic products, their persistent nature, and improper disposal methods. It is essential to develop effective purification methods to treat the hazardous MPs in water. Chitin and chitosan (CS) have gained attention as promising adsorbents for MPs because of their low cost, abundance, biodegradability, and the presence of functional groups such as amino and hydroxyl groups, which facilitate the removal of various toxins from wastewater.
