With the global emphasis on environmental protection and increasingly stringent emission regulations for internal combustion engines, there is an urgent need to overcome the problem of large hydrocarbon (HC) emissions caused by unstable engine cold starts. Synergistic engine pre-treatment (reducing hydrocarbon production) as well as after-treatment devices (adsorbing and oxidizing hydrocarbons) is the fundamental solution to emissions. In this paper, the improvement of hydrocarbon emissions is summarized from two aspects: pre-treatment and after-treatment. The pre-treatment for engine cold start mainly focuses on summarizing the intake control, fuel, and engine timing parameters. The after-treatment mainly focuses on summarizing different types of adsorbents and modifications (mainly including different molecular sieve structures and sizes, preparation conditions, silicon aluminum ratio, ion exchange modification, and heterogeneity, etc.), adsorptive catalysts (mainly including optimization of catalytic performance and structure), and catalytic devices (mainly including coupling with thermal management equipment and HC trap devices). In this paper, a SWOT (strength, weakness, opportunity, and threat) analysis of pre-treatment and after-treatment measures is conducted. Researchers can obtain relevant research results and seek new research directions and approaches for controlling cold start HC emissions.

Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) requires accurate therapeutic response assessment. This study evaluates the efficacy and prognostic value of [18F] fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography-computed tomography (18F-FDG PET-CT) using the Deauville 5-point scale and maximum standardized uptake value (ΔSUVmax) methods in DLBCL patients. A retrospective study was conducted from January 2021 to December 2022, including 60 DLBCL patients.

Background: After remission of a first-episode psychosis (FEP), antipsychotic discontinuation is associated with an increased risk of relapse compared to maintenance treatment. We studied short and longer-term effects of discontinuation of D receptor (DR) antagonist and partial agonist antipsychotics on striatal dopamine DR availability in FEP patients.
Methods: Remitted FEP patients underwent two [C]raclopride PET scans to measure striatal DR availability: 1 week after antipsychotic discontinuation (n = 16 antagonist users, n = 6 partial agonist users) and after being medication free for 6-8 weeks (n = 8 antagonist users, n = 5 partial agonist users).

Background: Sulfur dioxide (SO) is recognized as a major atmospheric pollutant and its excessive emissions can pose a great threat to the environment, flora and fauna, and human health. Long-term exposure to excessive SO can cause chronic poisoning, leading to neurological disorders and cardiovascular diseases. However, there are two sides to everything.

Tetracycline (TC) residues in animal-derived food pose a significant threat to human health, necessitating the development of straightforward and user-friendly methods for TC detection to safeguard food safety. Here, a series of novel Eu-based metal-organic frameworks (Eu-MOFs) were prepared using a dual-ligand strategy. In the midst of these Eu-MOFs, Eu-ABPDC/BPDC exhibits the dual emission at 472 and 619 nm under single-wavelength excitation, enabling highly effective ratiometric fluorescence sensing of TC.

Catalytic upgrading of CO to value-added C products offers promising solutions to trim carbon emissions with additional economic benefits. Herein, we report a NiFe bimetallic catalyst showing efficient ambient-pressure C-C coupling performance subject to H pretreatment temperature. An optimal performance was achieved after reducing NiFe/TiO at 350 °C (NiFe-350/TiO), yielding 27.
