Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) represent interconnected metabolic disorders with multifaceted etiology, demonstrating bidirectional relationships and pronounced associations with cardiovascular diseases (CVDs). Despite extensive research, significant knowledge gaps persist regarding the temporal progression of these comorbidities, optimal screening strategies for high-risk populations, and personalized therapeutic approaches targeting the hepatic-cardiac-metabolic axis simultaneously. Current literature lacks a comprehensive analysis of phenotypic heterogeneity within NAFLD-T2DM-CVD clusters and fails to address sex-specific and ethnic variations in disease progression patterns adequately.

Objective: To investigate the association between thyroid hormone sensitivity indices and bone metabolism markers in newly diagnosed middle-aged and elderly type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) patients with normal thyroid function.
Method: We retrospectively analyzed 350 newly diagnosed T2DM patients (≥ 45 years), stratified by bone mineral density into Group A (normal bone density group) and Group B (low bone mass and osteoporosis group). General data and clinical biochemical parameters were collected: free triiodothyronine (FT3), free thyroxine (FT4), thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH), 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25(OH)D), parathyroid hormone (PTH), osteocalcin (OC), bone-specific alkaline phosphatase (BALP), serum calcium (Ca), serum phosphorus (P), fasting plasma glucose (FPG), glycosylated hemoglobinA1c (HbA1c), total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), serum creatinine (SCr), serum uric acid (SUA), and estimated Glomerular Filtration Rate (eGFR).

Introduction: Adults with learning disabilities in the UK have a substantially higher risk of developing type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) than the general population. This study aimed to assess the impact of living with learning disabilities on T2DM control, therapeutic management, vascular outcomes, and mortality in UK primary care.
Research Design And Methods: We conducted an observational cohort study using primary care electronic health records from the UK Clinical Practice Research Datalink.

Background: Self-monitoring of blood glucose (SMBG) is recommended in clinical practice guidelines, including those in China, as part of patient education, self-management, and empowerment. With technological advancements, telecommunication technologies are now used for telemonitoring in health care. Mobile apps have become a practical tool for SMBG among patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM).

Background: Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is a common comorbidity of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), which significantly increases the risk of rehospitalization and mortality in patients with COPD. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to identify the influencing factors of COPD complicated by T2DM and to construct a visualized disease prediction model.
Method: We included the medical records of 1,773 patients with COPD treated at Quzhou People's Hospital from 2020 to 2023.
