Polymer dynamics is analyzed through the lens of linear dimensionality reduction methods, in particular principal and time-lagged independent component analysis (tICA). For a polymer undergoing ideal Rouse dynamics, the slow modes identified by these transformations coincide with the conventional Rouse modes. When applied to the Fourier modes of the segment density, we show that tICA generates dynamics equivalent to dynamic self-consistent field theory (D-SCFT) with a wavevector-dependent Onsager coefficient and a free energy functional subject to the random phase approximation.

There is a growing body of evidence that the interaction between various microbial organisms and the human host can affect various physical and even mental health conditions. Bidirectional communication occurs between the brain and the gut microbiome, referred to as the brain-gut-microbiome axis. During aging, changes occur to the gut microbiome due to various events and factors such as the mode of delivery at birth, exposure to medications (e.

Unlabelled: Deciphering the heterogeneity of type 2 diabetes in prognosis and treatment effect is essential. We used a novel dimensionality reduction approach to describe the type 2 diabetes phenotype continuum and visualize the difference in lifestyle intervention efficacy in Chinese patients. Based on 17,816 participants with newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes (aged ≥40 years) from a nationwide cohort, 12 key phenotypes were residualized for age and sex to construct a two-dimensional tree structure.

Breast cancer mortality rates have declined steadily over the past 40 years, as enhanced screening has shifted the balance of new diagnoses to curable, early-stage cancers while advances in systemic therapy have yielded improved and increasingly durable outcomes even for locally advanced and metastatic disease. However, this reduction in mortality has not been equitably distributed among all racial groups, and there continue to be significant racial and ethnic disparities. In this review, we summarize research that has contributed to our understanding of disparities in breast surgical oncology across all racial/ethnic groups, however, given that the most egregious disparities exist among Black women, our review will involve considerable focus on this racial group.
