Livestock-associated methicillin-resistant (LA-MRSA) displays distinct geographical distribution patterns, with ST398 predominating in Europe and ST9 being the dominant lineage in Asia, particularly China. However, the mechanisms underlying these differences remain poorly understood. In this study, we evaluated the cell adhesion capacity, anti-phagocytic properties, and porcine nasal colonization potential of ST9 and ST398 strains isolated from China and Germany.

Background: Previous research has demonstrated disparities in access to care for patients with facial fractures. This study aimed to assess potential disparities in timing to nasal bone repositioning among hospitalized patients who received treatment.
Methods: Data from the 2017-2022 American College of Surgeons Trauma Quality Improvement Program (ACS-TQIP) and the International Classification of Diseases 10th revision codes (ICD-10) were used.

With the ongoing advancement of nasal endoscopic surgical techniques, rhinologists are increasingly tasked with addressing not only nasal sinus lesions but also exploring transnasal approaches for managing lesions involving the eyes and skull base. The complex anatomy of the nose, adjacent to the skull base superiorly and the medial orbital walls bilaterally, supports the use of artificial materials during surgical procedures for repair or reconstruction. Furthermore, artificial materials aid in the regeneration of nasal mucous membranes, promoting healing.
