Background: The effectiveness of ethanol infusion of the vein of Marshall (EIVOM) for persistent atrial fibrillation (AF) in patients with mitral valve replacement (MVR) remains to be determined.
Objectives: This study investigated the effectiveness and safety of EIVOM in catheter ablation of persistent AF in patients with MVR.
Methods: This is a retrospective case-control study.

Lumbar spinal stenosis (LSS) is one of the most common spinal disorders in elderly people and is often accompanied by neuropathic pain. Although our previous studies have demonstrated that infiltrating macrophage contribute to chronic neuropathic pain in LSS rat model, the molecular mechanisms underlying macrophage activation and infiltration have not been fully elucidated. In this study, we examined the critical role of platelet-derived growth factor receptor (PDGFR) signaling pathway in neuropathic pain associated with macrophage infiltration and activation in LSS rats.

Celecoxib, a selective COX-2 inhibitor, has demonstrated anti-liver cancer effects in various preclinical models and clinical traits. However, prolonged use of celecoxib can lead to drug resistance, necessitating higher doses to maintain efficacy, which often results in severe side effects, limiting its clinical application. This study aimed to identify strategies to overcome celecoxib resistance in liver cancer.
