To meet the requirement of lighter weight and better performance in tube hydroforming, one of the most important tasks is to accurately predict the forming limit of thin-walled tubes under nonlinear loading paths. This work established the M-K+DF2012 model, a combination of the M-K model and the DF2012 ductile fracture criterion, for the forming limit prediction of thin-walled tubes under nonlinear loading paths. In this model, the failure of the groove is determined by the DF2012 criterion, and the corresponding strains in the uniform region are the limit strains. The limit strains of an AA6061 aluminum alloy tube under a set of linear loading paths and two typical nonlinear loading paths were tested. Parameter values of the M-K+DF2012 model for the tube were determined based on the experimental limit strains under linear loading paths, and the limit strains under the two nonlinear loading paths were predicted. Then the strain-based forming limit diagram (-FLD) and the polar effective plastic strain FLD (PEPS-FLD) of the tube under different pre-strains were predicted and discussed. The results show that the limit strains of the tube are obviously path-dependent, and the M-K+DF2012 model can reasonably capture the limit strains of the tube under both linear and nonlinear loading paths. The predicted -FLD shows a strong dependence on the pre-strain, while the predicted PEPS-FLD is weakly strain path-dependent and almost path-independent on the right-hand side for the AA6061 tube.

Carbon-based catalysts with free-standing structure are essential for rechargeable zinc-air battery as electrodes, which can avoid the side effects brought by organic binder. However, the current preparation methods still can be improved for faster preparation process and morphology control. In this study, we reported a fabrication strategy of self-standing carbon catalyst loaded with CoFe nanoparticles and carbon nanotube as air electrodes for liquid rechargeable zinc-air battery.

Harnessing instabilities of multicomponent multistable structural assemblies can potentially lead to scalable and reversible functionalities, which can be enhanced by exploring frustration. For instance, standard Kresling origami cells exhibit nontunable intrinsic energy landscapes determined by their geometry and material properties, limiting their adaptability after fabrication. To overcome this limitation, we introduce frustration to enable fine-tuning of the energy landscape and resulting deformation states.

Magnetic Particle Imaging (MPI) has evolved over the past two decades from a conceptual imaging innovation to a promising modality ready for translation into clinical settings. MPI visualizes the distribution of superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles (SPIONs) using time-varying magnetic fields and offers unique advantages such as high sensitivity, real-time 3D imaging, and the absence of ionizing radiation. This review traces key milestones in MPI's development across instrumentation, algorithmics, tracer systems, and medical applications.

Oral frailty is a key factor in maintaining nutritional status, yet its impact on weight loss remains unclear. This study aimed to (1) evaluate the longitudinal association between oral frailty and the onset of weight loss among independent older adults and (2) explore how oral frailty components contribute to this association. Data were sourced from 2016 to 2022 of the Japan Gerontological Evaluation Study (JAGES).

This study investigated the fracture behavior of asphalt mixtures under indirect tensile loading by comparing the performance of homogenized and micromechanical finite element (FEMs) models based on the cohesive zone model (CZM). Five asphalt mixture types were tested experimentally, and both models were calibrated and validated using load-displacement curves from indirect tensile tests (IDTs). The micromechanical model, incorporating random aggregate generation and three-phase material definition, exhibited significantly higher predictive accuracy (R = 0.
