Here, we report the draft genome sequence of Bacillus cereus strain THSB-6-2, which was isolated from cyanobacterial blooms in Lake Taihu, China. The 5,496,658-bp genome assembly of Bacillus cereus consists of 28 contigs, with a GC content of 35% and with 5,587 protein-coding sequences and 58 RNA genes.

The emergence of antimicrobial resistance poses significant challenges in conventional antibiotic treatments for chronic wound infections, highlighting an urgent need for alternative therapeutic strategies. To address this issue, we developed a multifunctional electrospun nanofiber dressing co-loaded with anthocyanin (ATH) and asiaticoside (AS) that possesses antimicrobial activity. The tri-layer dressing contains three functional components: a hydrophilic polyacrylonitrile-anthocyanin (PAN-ATH) layer for pH monitoring, a hydrophobic polycaprolactone (PCL) layer for exudate management, and a water-soluble pullulan-Bletilla striata polysaccharide-asiaticoside (PUL-BSP-AS) layer.

This study investigated an increase in bacteraemia cases amongst hospitalized patients in Italy during the summer of 2023. To precisely characterize the outbreak, we performed extensive genomic investigation, including both short- and long-read sequencing technologies, combined with bioinformatics analysis. This genomic approach enabled us to identify the putative source of the outbreak and understand the transmission dynamics of this opportunistic pathogen within the hospital.

Background: Post-translational modifications (PTMs) are critical regulators of bacterial biofilm formation, but the role of lysine malonylation (Kmal) in biofilm formation is still poorly understood.
Methods: In this study, we analyzed the dynamic changes of protein malonylation of () DC15 during biofilm formation based on antibody affinity enrichment combined with quantitative proteomics.
Results: Quantitative profiling identified 2,833 malonylated sites across 788 proteins, with significant enrichment in biofilm-associated proteins.

The study of plant growth-promoting microorganisms is crucial for developing new agricultural strategies aimed at increasing productivity and resilience in semi-arid environments, where water scarcity and soil degradation pose critical challenges. Therefore, this study aimed to identify and relate the effects of inoculation of growth-promoting or nodulating microorganisms in isolates from chickpea roots grown in a semiarid region. The nodules were washed with distilled water, 95% ethanol and 3% NaClO.
