Frequency mixing magnetic detection (FMMD) has been explored for its applications in fields of magnetic biosensing, multiplex detection of magnetic nanoparticles (MNP) and the determination of core size distribution of MNP samples. Such applications rely on the application of a static offset magnetic field, which is generated traditionally with an electromagnet. Such a setup requires a current source, as well as passive or active cooling strategies, which directly sets a limitation based on the portability aspect that is desired for point of care (POC) monitoring applications. In this work, a measurement head is introduced that involves the utilization of two ring-shaped permanent magnets to generate a static offset magnetic field. A steel cylinder in the ring bores homogenizes the field. By variation of the distance between the ring magnets and of the thickness of the steel cylinder, the magnitude of the magnetic field at the sample position can be adjusted. Furthermore, the measurement setup is compared to the electromagnet offset module based on measured signals and temperature behavior.

Purpose: Recent work has shown potential benefits for perimetry with dense spacing. To investigate the impact of normal inhomogeneity of perimetric sensitivity on perimetry with dense spacing, suprathreshold perimetry was used near the optic disc where shadows of blood vessels affect sensitivity in healthy eyes.
Methods: Three groups of participants were tested: 58 healthy older controls, 29 healthy younger controls and 18 patients with glaucoma.

Purpose: Ultrasound (US) is commonly used to assess left ventricular motion for examination of heart function. In stereotactic arrhythmia radioablation (STAR) therapy, managing cardiorespiratory motion during radiation delivery requires representation of motion information in computed tomography (CT) coordinates. Similar to conventional US-guided navigation during surgical procedures, 3D US can provide real-time motion data of the radiation target that could be transferred to CT coordinates and then be accounted for by the radiation system.

In situ forming implants (ISFIs) present a promising approach for sustained parenteral drug delivery, offering reduced first pass metabolism, fewer systemic side effects, and improved patient compliance. This study investigates defocused spatially-offset Raman spectroscopy (SORS) as a real-time, non-invasive, and label-free method for monitoring implant formation and drug release from ISFIs loaded with the model drugs 4-cyanophenol (4-CP) or all-trans retinoic acid (RA). A custom-designed flow-through diffusion cell, incorporating full-thickness porcine skin, was developed to enable ex vivo release studies, allowing simultaneous defocused SORS measurements of subcutaneously-implanted formulations and HPLC quantification of drug released into the receptor medium.

Objective: To investigate the effects of a 12-week isokinetic eccentric training program on postural control and ankle muscle strength in individuals with functional ankle instability (FAI).
Methods: In this randomized controlled trial, 42 participants with unilateral FAI were randomly assigned to either an experimental group (n = 21), receiving isokinetic eccentric training, or a control group (n = 21), receiving isokinetic concentric training. Both groups trained three times per week for 12 weeks.
