Auxiliary buttons are often required in clear aligner therapy for elastic traction. We introduce an adhesiveless flame-fusion technique for affixing auxiliary metal buttons to clear aligners, aiming to eliminate the extra chair time, occasional debonding, and translucent haze associated with resin adhesives. Round‑base stainless‑steel buttons are grasped with locking forceps, heated in an alcohol flame (~600-650 °C for 10-15 s), and immediately pressed with moderate manual pressure (~5 N) for 5-10 s onto 0.

Fungal keratitis is a rare but severe complication following penetrating keratoplasty (PKP). We report the clinical course, rapid deterioration, and management of a case of keratitis occurring three months after PKP. A 69-year-old woman with Fuchs' endothelial dystrophy developed pseudophakic bullous keratopathy following cataract surgery.

In the past decades, China has witnessed high air pollution associated with rapid economic development, although regulatory efforts have alleviated the situation since 2013. Haze events characterized by high particulate matter (PM) levels in China are not only of enormous magnitude but also represent a distinct chemical regime. Once driven by direct emissions, these high-PM episodes are now more affected by secondary aerosol, especially secondary organic aerosol (SOA).

Atmospheric pollution events can trigger pulsed phosphorus deposition into the ocean, rapidly altering nutrient dynamics. Haze and dust event differ markedly in sources, particle sizes, and ecological impacts. This study investigates atmospheric P concentrations and dry deposition during a consecutive haze-dust episode in November 2018 over China's marginal sea.

Adverse weather image restoration aims to recover clear images from those affected by weather conditions such as rain, haze, and snow. Different weather types affect images in distinct ways, necessitating specific degradation removal strategies, while content reconstruction generally benefits from a consistent approach since the underlying image structure remains largely consistent. Previous methods, despite their ability to handle multiple weather conditions within a single framework, often failed to adequately separate these two critical processes, thereby adversely affecting image restoration quality.
