August 2025

Surgical Pathology Laboratory, Oral Pathology Department, Facultad de Odontología, Universidad de Buenos Aires, M.T. Alvear (C1122AAH), Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires, 2142, Argentina.

Aim: The present study aimed to contribute to the biological characterization of odontogenic ghost cell lesions (OGCL).

Materials And Methods: Sixty-nine OGCL consisting of 60 calcifying odontogenic cysts (COC) and nine dentinogenic ghost cell tumors (DGCT) were collected from a single center over a period of 63 years. The clinical, radiographic, and histopathological features were re-evaluated.

Versatility of Temporalis Myofascial Flap in Maxillofacial Reconstruction: A Retrospective Study.

J Maxillofac Oral Surg

August 2025

Department of Public Health Dentistry, Postgraduate Institute of Dental Sciences, Pt. B.D Sharma University of Health Sciences, Rohtak, Haryana India.

Aim: To evince the versatility of temporalis myofascial flap by assessing its success in patients of primary and secondary maxillofacial defects retrospectively.

Methodology: A retrospective study was designed to evaluate the patients of maxillofacial abnormalities repaired using temporalis myofascial flaps during the period of 2008 and 2017. Data regarding demographics, diagnosis of the disease made, site of disease involved, treatment done, outcome and short-term complication were extracted from the past patient records.

Ameloblastic Carcinoma: A 40-Year Scoping Review of the Literature.

Curr Issues Mol Biol

April 2025

Maxillo-Facial Surgery Unit, Department of Experimental and Clinical Medicine, "Magna Graecia" University, Viale Europa, 88100 Catanzaro, Italy.

Background: Ameloblastic carcinoma (AC) is a rare malignant odontogenic tumor with limited knowledge surrounding its pathogenesis, molecular pathways, clinical behavior, treatment, and prognosis. This 40-year literature scoping review aims to enhance the comprehension of this complex condition, looking closely at how AC works at molecular and pathophysiological levels and what causes it to develop.

Methods: The PUBMED, Medline, Scopus, and Cochrane central databases were searched, including articles from 1984 to date.

Introduction: Odontogenic tumors are lesions that originate from the tooth-producing tissues or their remnants that remain entrapped either within the jawbones or into the adjacent soft tissues. They comprise a range of disorders of growth, from malignant and benign neoplasms, to malformations of dental tissues of self-limited growth.

Aim: To do a retrospective analysis of 56 cases of odontogenic tumors in oral cavity over a period of 5 years.
