Purpose: The liver-brain axis regulates metabolic homeostasis, with glucose metabolism playing a key role. Liver dysfunction, such as fibrosis, may impact brain metabolism and consequently, brain function. Positron emission tomography (PET) imaging provides a non-invasive approach to study glucose metabolism in both organs.

Parkinson's Disease (PD), the second most common neurodegenerative disease after Alzheimer's disease, is clinically characterized by resting tremor, rigidity and postural balance disorder. Its pathological essence is the progressive degenerative death of dopaminergic neurons in the substantia nigra pars compacta (SNpc), leading to a significant decrease in striatal dopamine (DA) levels. This results in the dysfunction of basal ganglia-thalamus-cortex (BGTC) circuit.

Case: A 12-year-old girl with neurofibromatosis type 1 presented with progressive thoracic scoliosis and neurological deficit. Imaging revealed a dystrophic curve, dorsal syrinx, and tethering of the cord by a plexiform neurofibroma arising from the T7 dorsal ramus. She underwent staged surgery: detethering through T6-T8 laminectomy, followed by posterior spinal deformity correction with Schwab type 2 osteotomies and instrumentation.

The speech and language rehabilitation are essential to people who have disorders of communication that may occur due to the condition of neurological disorder, developmental delays, or bodily disabilities. With the advent of deep learning, we introduce an improved multimodal rehabilitation pipeline that incorporates audio, video, and text information in order to provide patient-tailored therapy that adapts to the patient. The technique uses a cross-attention fusion multimodal hierarchical transformer architectural model that allows it to jointly design speech acoustics as well as the facial dynamics, lip articulation, and linguistic context.

Purpose: To report a rare case of bilateral necrotising retinitis caused by a potentially novel human adenovirus D (HAdV-D) in a post-bone marrow transplant patient and to highlight the diagnostic challenges and therapeutic role of intravenous cidofovir, alongside a review of previously reported cases of human adenovirus (HAdV) retinitis.

Methods: Retrospective case report.

Results: A 60-year-old man with a history of acute myeloid leukaemia, in remission post-bone marrow transplant, presented with bilateral hypertensive granulomatous panuveitis and necrotising retinitis.
