Article Abstract

This study aimed to unveil the functional roles of in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). A discovery cohort and a validation cohort were respectively used to identify and verify the clinical value of in HCC. Bioinformatics analysis was performed to explore its potential mechanisms. was upregulated in HCC tissues and serum samples. Survival analysis and receiver operating characteristic curve further revealed its prognostic and diagnostic roles. Exploration of the mechanism showed that might exert a pro-cancer role via the lncRNA-miRNA-mRNA network. Our study reveals that upregulated can serve as a potential diagnostic and prognostic biomarker and provides novel clues as to the role of in HCC.

Ionic liquids (ILs) are a class of organic salts with melting points below 100°C. Owing to their unique chemical and physical properties, they are used as solvents and catalysts in various chemical transformations, progressively replacing common volatile organic solvents (VOCs) in green synthetic applications. However, their intrinsic ionic nature can restrict the use of mass spectrometric techniques to monitor the time progress of a reaction occurring in an IL medium, thus preventing one from following the formation of the reaction products or intercepting the reaction intermediates.

The effect of non-functionalized polystyrene nanoparticles (PS-NPs) with diameters of 29, 44, and 72 nm on plasmid DNA integrity and the expression of genes involved in the architecture of chromatin was investigated in human peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs). The cells were incubated with PS-NPs at concentrations ranging from 0.001 to 100 µg/mL for 24 hours.

Our previous work identified p3-interacting protein (P3IP) as a novel plant factor that interacts with rice stripe virus p3 protein and activates autophagy to mediate its degradation, thereby restricting infection. However, the mechanism of P3IP-mediated autophagy and the evolutionary conservation of its antiviral function remain unknown. This study demonstrates that two Arabidopsis thaliana homologs, AtP3IP and AtP3IPH (Arabidopsis P3IP homologs, AtP3IPs), similarly activate autophagy and confer resistance to turnip mosaic virus (TuMV).

Chlorinated hydrocarbons are widely used as solvents and synthetic intermediates, but their chemical persistence can cause hazardous environmental accumulation. Haloalkane dehalogenase from (DhlA) is a bacterial enzyme that naturally converts toxic chloroalkanes into less harmful alcohols. Using a multiscale approach based on the empirical valence bond method, we investigate the catalytic mechanism of 1,2-dichloroethane dehalogenation within DhlA and its mutants.

September 2025

Department of Geriatrics, Sichuan Provincial People's Hospital, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, Chengdu, 610072, People's Republic of China.

Background: Sepsis is characterized by profound immune and metabolic perturbations, with glycolysis serving as a pivotal modulator of immune responses. However, the molecular mechanisms linking glycolytic reprogramming to immune dysfunction remain poorly defined.

Methods: Transcriptomic profiles of sepsis were obtained from the Gene Expression Omnibus.
