High-fidelity tissue super-resolution imaging achieved with confocal spinning-disk image scanning microscopy.

Light Sci Appl

Department of Biomedical Engineering, National Biomedical Imaging Center, College of Future Technology, Peking University, Beijing, China.

Super-resolution imaging has revolutionized our ability to visualize biological structures at subcellular scales. However, deep-tissue super-resolution imaging remains constrained by background interference, which leads to limited depth penetration and compromised imaging fidelity. To overcome these challenges, we propose a novel imaging system, confocal² spinning-disk image scanning microscopy (CSD-ISM).

Mucopolysaccharidosis type IIID (MPS IIID; Sanfilippo D) is caused by biallelic pathogenic variants in N-acetylglucosamine-6-sulfatase (GNS), which participates in catabolism of heparan sulfate (HS) glycosaminoglycans. Characterization of MPS IIID disease at a cellular level has not been robustly achieved. We used unbiased quantitative proteomics to establish a cellular phenotype for MPS IIID mice.

Influence of Overnight Orthokeratology on Ocular Surface and Blink Patterns in Children and Adolescents-A Prospective Cohort Study.

Eye Contact Lens

June 2025

Beijing Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences Key Laboratory (J.F., Y.G., Ya Wen, Yinghui Wang, J.W., A.L., Y.H., L.T., Y.J.), Beijing Institute of Ophthalmology, Beijing Tongren Eye Center, Beijing Tongren Hospital, Capital Medical University, Beijing, China; and Beijing Tianming Eye New Technology Dev

Objectives: To investigate the effect of overnight orthokeratology (OOK) on ocular surface and blinking patterns in children and adolescents.

Methods: A prospective cohort study was conducted including 27 eyes of 27 children from Beijing Tongren Hospital who received OOK correction and 31 eyes of 31 spectacle wearing children. Tests were performed before and at 3 and 6 months after OOK wear.

Background: MaiLi-E is a lidocaine-containing cross-linked sodium hyaluronate gel for dermal filling. This prospective, multicenter, randomized, delayed-treatment controlled, evaluator-blinded clinical trial aims to evaluate the efficacy and safety of MaiLi-E for chin augmentation.

Methods: Participants with mild-to-moderate-severe chin retrusion were enrolled and randomized (2:1) to receive MaiLi-E at study onset (MaiLi-E group) or six months later (control group).

Background: Most epidemiologic studies and clinical testing use single nasal/nasopharyngeal swab (NPS) for respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) detection. Studies document that RSV detection improves if another specimen is added to NPS, but the impact of using multiple specimen types has not been assessed. We quantified RSV detection increase using multiple-specimen testing versus NPS alone.
