In this work, two tailor-made luminogens comprising of electron donors (acridine and phenoxazine) and acceptor (triazine) bridged by the through-space conjugated hexaphenylbenzene (HPB) are synthesized and characterized. Their thermal stability, electrochemical behaviors, crystal, and electronic structures, and photophysical properties are systematically investigated. The crystal and electronic structures reveal that the peripheral phenyls in HPB are closely aligned in a propeller-like fashion, rendering efficient through-space charge transfer between donor and electron moieties. These molecules display weak fluorescence with negligible delayed component in solutions but strong fluorescence with greatly increased delayed component upon aggregate formation, namely aggregation-induced delayed fluorescence (AIDF). Their neat films exhibit high photoluminescence quantum yields (PLQY), and prominent delayed fluorescence. The non-doped organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) based on these new luminogens exhibit excellent performance with maximum external quantum efficiency of 12.7% and very small efficiency roll-off of 2.7% at 1,000 cd m. Designing AIDF molecules with through-space charge transfer could be a promising strategy to explore robust luminescent materials for efficient non-doped OLEDs.

We report a unique case of perioral cutaneous infection in a 37-year-old male with scattered erythematous, pruritic, and scaly lesions lasting over a month. Initial clinical presentation mimicked common dermatological conditions, leading to potential misdiagnosis.

Incorporating boron atoms into organic macrocycles imparts unique chemical, electronic, and optical properties. The concept of making use of dative boron-nitrogen (B ← N) bonds for the construction of macrocycles has been proposed, but very few examples have been prepared with functional structures, much less pillar-like and other prismatic macrocycles, and their various functionalities have not been fully exploited. Here, we introduce a "functional molecular wall" synthetic protocol based on the self-assembly characteristics of B ← N dative bonds to construct highly symmetrical macrocycles, forming a quasi-pentagonal-shaped macrocycle (named [5]pyBN-) with a pillar-like structure.

The genus Leishmania comprises a distinct group of species that exhibit distinct clinical features. Interestingly, this clinical variability frequently overlaps or intersects resulting in symptoms that don't follow typical patterns and often resemble those of unrelated diseases. Diagnosing leishmaniasis is challenging as current techniques exhibit several lacunae including cross-reactivity with other protozoal species, inability to discriminate between species, along with differential sensitivity and specificity.
