The interplay between inflammation and cancer is the subject of intense interest. The recent approval of a number of checkpoint inhibitors has opened novel therapeutic pathways for several cancers. Conversely, biologic suppressors of inflammation, such as Tumor Necrosis Factor (TNF) inhibitors, have been utilized over the past two decades for the management of chronic inflammatory autoimmune diseases. While the overall rates of malignancy in patients using anti TNF therapies are not elevated, increased risk has been established for cutaneous malignancy, particularly carcinoma. In subsets of patients, such as those with rheumatoid arthritis, a modestly increased incidence of melanoma is also documented. Herewith, we present the first reported instance of a sarcoma of the dermis and superficial subcutaneous tissue at the injection site of Adalimumab in a woman being treated for psoriatic synovitis. We review the literature and suggest that a more nuanced documentation of adverse events is needed to clarify the iatrogenic risk of rare cancers, such as soft tissue sarcomas, in patients taking these biological therapies.

Injections have been linked to feline sarcomas (feline injection-site sarcoma; FISS) and cutaneous lymphomas (cutaneous lymphoma at injection site; CLIS). Both tumors often exhibit lymphoplasmacytic inflammation ascribed to injected immunogenic material. CLIS is hypothesized to emerge from transformation and clonal expansion of lymphoid cells following persistent immune stimulation with feline leukemia virus (FeLV) reactivation and transformation.

In vertebrates, the basic respiratory rhythm is modified by both sensory feedback and input from higher centers to produce a broad range of breathing patterns. In carp (Cyprinus carpio L.), breathing is often episodic while in trout (Onchorhynchus mykiss) it is continuous and rhythmic except when water is hyperoxic.

Since the outbreak of SARS-CoV-2 in late 2019, the cumulative number of confirmed cases worldwide has surpassed 778 million, and the number of deaths has exceeded 7 million, posing a significant threat to human life and health while inflicting enormous losses on the global economy. At the stage where sequential immunization is recommended, there is a pressing demand for mRNA vaccines that can be rapidly adapted to new sequences, are easy to industrialize, and exhibit high safety and effectiveness. We developed a lipid nanoparticle (LNP) system, designated as WNP, which facilitates essentially in situ expression at the injection site and results in lower levels of pro-inflammatory factors in the liver, thus enhancing its safety compared to liver-targeted alternatives.

Phospholipid-derived nanocarriers represent a versatile and chemically customizable class of drug delivery systems that self-assemble into bilayered vesicles due to their intrinsic amphiphilicity. These systems can encapsulate both hydrophilic and hydrophobic drugs through non-covalent interactions and manipulation of lipid phase behavior. This review examines the molecular and supramolecular principles underlying the formation, stability, and functional performance of key phospholipid-based nanocarriers-including liposomes, transferosomes, ethosomes, invasomes, phytosomes, pharmacosomes, and virosomes.

Glioblastoma is a highly malignant brain tumor with few available therapeutic options, for which boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT) has emerged as a promising precision radiotherapy approach. However, its efficacy remains suboptimal due to inadequate tumor targeting of boron agents and lack of in vivo visualization.
