Skin grafts offer a dynamic repair option for nasal defects of appropriate size, depth, and location. Granulation and grafting can successfully be used as stand-alone reconstructive options or in conjunction with flap repair. This article reviews suitable indications for graft and granulation use in nasal repair to achieve optimum functional and esthetic outcomes.

Nasal alar reconstruction is complex due to the region's anatomy and aesthetic importance. This report describes repairing a small, full-thickness alar rim defect in a 36-year-old man using a rotational columellar skin flap with septal cartilage grafting. This single-stage technique achieved good color match, symmetry, and minimal donor-site morbidity.

Livestock-associated methicillin-resistant (LA-MRSA) displays distinct geographical distribution patterns, with ST398 predominating in Europe and ST9 being the dominant lineage in Asia, particularly China. However, the mechanisms underlying these differences remain poorly understood. In this study, we evaluated the cell adhesion capacity, anti-phagocytic properties, and porcine nasal colonization potential of ST9 and ST398 strains isolated from China and Germany.
