Metabolomics plays an important role in phytochemical genomics and crop breeding; however, metabolite annotation is a significant bottleneck in metabolomic studies. In particular, in liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (MS)-based metabolomics, which has become a routine technology for the profiling of plant-specialized metabolites, a substantial number of metabolites detected as MS peaks are still not assigned properly to a single metabolite. (rice) is one of the most important staple crops in the world. In the present study, we isolated and elucidated the structures of specialized metabolites from rice by using MS/MS and NMR. Thirty-six compounds, including five new flavonoids and eight rare flavonolignan isomers, were isolated from the rice leaves. The MS/MS spectral data of the isolated compounds, with a detailed interpretation of MS fragmentation data, will facilitate metabolite annotation of the related phytochemicals by enriching the public mass spectral data depositories, including the plant-specific MS/MS-based database, ReSpect.

Ethnopharmacological Relevance: Fujian Tablet (FJT), a traditional Chinese herbal compound formulation developed under the theoretical framework of "nourishing the liver and kidney, replenishing essence and marrow" , has been clinically applied for over two decades to treat post-stroke neurological deficits. Preliminary studies demonstrated its efficacy in improving motor function and promoting cervical spinal cord neuroaxonal growth in a middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) rat model. Building upon these findings, this study integrates metabolomic evidence of Foxo3a-GPX4 axis activation to systematically elucidate Fujian Tablet's neurorestorative mechanisms through three interconnected pathways: regulation of ferroptosis, promotion of oligodendrocyte proliferation, and remyelination.

Ethnopharmacological Relevance: Shen Ling Bai Zhu San (SLBZS) is a classical Chinese herbal formula and has been used for treating chronic diarrhea (CD) for several centuries. However, there is a lack of robust evidence on how SLBZS regulates immune function to improve CD.
Aim Of The Study: To reveal the spleen-invigorating and antidiarrheal effects of SLBZS in chronic diarrhea mice induced by spleen-deficiency, as well as to explore the underlying mechanism.

Salicylic acid (SA), a phenolic-derived secondary metabolite, serves as a critical signaling molecule in plant defense mechanisms. Contemporary phytochemical studies have identified two distinct biosynthetic pathways for SA production in plants: the isochorismate synthase (ICS)-mediated pathway and the phenylalanine ammonia-lyase (PAL)-dependent pathway. However, the enzymes participating in SA biosynthesis in soybean remain largely unknown.

This study aims to comprehensively screen quality markers using an integrated multi-strategy approach combining plant metabolomics, spectrum-effect relationship analysis, network pharmacology, and quantitative analysis, thereby providing a basis for quality control of Paris polyphylla var. yunnanensis and its closely related species. Firstly, 14 differential metabolites were screened from the roots, stems, and leaves of Paris polyphylla var.

Dried blood spots (DBS) offer a practical and relatively non-invasive method for sample collection. Here, we evaluate the feasibility of applying H NMR spectroscopy to metabolomic analysis of DBS. Various solvent suppression techniques and extraction protocols were tested using aqueous and methanolic solvents.
