Rationale: Surgical treatment of osteochondral lesions of the talar dome (OLTD), for lesions larger than 15 mm2, surgical treatment remains challenging. To solve these problems, we presented a 3D-printed partial talar surface replacement (PTSR) technique for treating OLTD with severe lesions.

Patient Concerns: A 23-year-old male patient with OLTD experienced persistent pain for more than a year (Berndt and Harty classification V).

Insomnia remains a major public health challenge with limited safe treatment options. We demonstrate that mixed probiotics Lactobacillales (Lactobacillus helveticus L551, Lacticaseibacillus paracasei L578, and Streptococcus thermophilus S709, group P) alleviates insomnia in PCPA-induced mice. P significantly reduced sleep latency and increased sleep duration, while ameliorating anxiety behaviors.

A WRI-like gene (CeWRI3) homologous to AtWRI3/4 was isolated from oil-rich Cyperus esculentus tubers, which was shown to function in TAG accumulation through activating CeOLE2. In oilseeds, WRI1 has proven to be a master regulator in the transcriptional control of genes involved in fatty acid biosynthesis. By contrast, no evidence is available for WRI1 and its homologs in regulating genes associated with triacylglycerol (TAG) biosynthesis.

Abdominal fat distribution, particularly the visceral-to-subcutaneous fat area ratio (V/S ratio), offers a promising avenue for exploring the development of hypertension. However, there is a paucity of quantitative studies examining the relationship between the V/S ratio and the risk of hypertension in individuals with prediabetes, especially within the Chinese population. This cross-sectional study was conducted at the Health Management Center of Henan Provincial People's Hospital, involving 4071 participants with prediabetes.

LEA_5 domain-containing proteins constitute a small family of late embryogenesis-abundant proteins that are essential for seed desiccation tolerance and dormancy. However, their roles in non-seed storage organs such as underground tubers are largely unknown. This study presents the first genome-scale analysis of the family in tigernut ( L.

Plant oils rich in oleic acid (OA) are attracting considerable attention for their high nutritional value and significant industrial potential. Stearoyl-acyl carrier protein desaturases (SADs) are a class of soluble desaturases that play a key role in OA accumulation in plants. In this study, the first genome-wide characterization of the gene family was conducted in tigernut ( L.

Background: Metabolic syndrome (MetS) is increasingly diagnosed in individuals with normal body weight, and visceral fat emerges as a significant risk factor. However, the relationship between visceral fat area (VFA) and MetS within this population remains inadequately explored, and the diagnostic threshold for MetS in normal-weight individuals is yet to be established.

Methods: This study used a cross-sectional design combined with longitudinal cohort analysis.

Purpose: The impact of hepatic lipid accumulation on hyperuricemia presents an intriguing research avenue, particularly in light of existing studies linking obesity with hyperuricemia. Nevertheless, there remains a scarcity of quantitative investigations into the correlation between liver fat content (LFC) and hyperuricemia among prediabetic cohorts, notably within the Chinese demographic.

Patients And Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted at the Health Management Center of Henan Provincial People's Hospital between January 2019 and December 2023, involving 2,950 pre-diabetic participants.

Background: Coronary Artery Calcification (CAC) is a major risk factor for various cardiovascular diseases. Low-Density Lipoprotein Cholesterol (LDL-C) is a significant factor in atherosclerotic cardiovascular diseases and is usually elevated in patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM). However, the association between LDL-C levels and incident CAC in asymptomatic T2DM patients remains unclear.

Background: The Atherogenic Index of Plasma (AIP) is a novel biomarker for assessing the severity of atherosclerosis and has been shown to be closely associated with the risk of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM). However, no prospective cohort study has comprehensively evaluated both the immediate risk stratification through baseline AIP and the long-term risk assessment through multi-time point AIP trajectories in health screened adults in relation to T2DM risk.

Methods: This longitudinal study included data from 42,850 participants who underwent health check-ups at Henan Provincial People's Hospital between January 2018 and August 2024.

Background: The impact of fatty liver disease on lumbar bone mineral density (BMD) represents an intriguing area of study, particularly in light of established research linking obesity to bone metabolism. However, there remains limited investigation into the correlation between quantifying liver fat content (LFC) and lumbar BMD among overweight and obese populations, particularly within the Chinese demographic. This study aims to accurately quantify LFC and investigate its association with lumbar BMD in overweight or obese individuals.

Despite numerous studies investigating the correlation between the serum uric acid and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol ratio (UHR) and fatty liver disease, the evidence for the dose-response relationship between UHR and liver fat content (LFC) remains uncertain. This study employs quantitative computed tomography (CT) to quantify LFC and aims to investigate the correlation and dose-response relationship between UHR levels and LFC in Chinese adults. Based on the health check-up data from 2021 at Henan Provincial People's Hospital, China, the objective of this cross-sectional study was to investigate the association between UHR levels and LFC among individuals of different genders.

This study proposes a novel surgical technique for the excision of benign parotid tumors, utilizing a extracapsular dissection guided by a three dimensional digital model of the facial nerve(3DFN-ECD) and compares its clinical efficacy with the extracapsular dissection (ECD) method. This prospective study included 68 patients with benign parotid tumors. The control group (40 patients) received the ECD treatment, while the experimental group (28 patients), underwent the 3DFN-ECD approach proposed in this study.

LEA_1 domain-containing proteins constitute a class of late-embryogenesis-abundant proteins that are highly hydrophilic and predominantly accumulate in mature seeds. Though LEA_1 proteins have been proven to be essential for seed desiccation tolerance and longevity, little information is available on their roles in non-seed storage organs. In this study, a first genome-wide characterization of the gene family was conducted in tigernut ( L.

CeOLE6, a tuber-specific gene in tigernut, encodes a diverged SH oleosin that functions in oil accumulation via homo and heteromultimerization. Tigernut (Cyperus esculentus L.) is a rare example accumulating high levels of triacylglycerols (TAGs) in underground tubers; however, the mechanism underlying is poorly understood.

While natural terpenoid cyclases generate complex terpenoid structures via cationic mechanisms, alternative radical cyclization pathways are underexplored. The metal-catalysed H-atom transfer reaction (M-HAT) offers an attractive means for hydrofunctionalizing olefins, providing access to terpenoid-like structures. Artificial metalloenzymes offer a promising strategy for introducing M-HAT reactivity into a protein scaffold.

The addition of a sulfhydryl group to water-soluble -alkyl(-nitrostyryl)pyridinium ions (NSPs) followed by fast and irreversible cyclization and aromatization results in a stable S-C sp-bond. The reaction sequence, termed Click & Lock, engages accessible cysteine residues under the formation of -hydroxy indole pyridinium ions. The accompanying red shift of >70 nm to around 385 nm enables convenient monitoring of the labeling yield by UV-vis spectroscopy at extinction coefficients of ≥2 × 10 M cm.
