The sensitive and specific diagnosis of pheochromocytoma and paraganglioma (PPGL) remains challenging due to the low abundance of their detectable biomarker of catecholamines (CAs) in serum. Herein, we established an enzyme-assisted substrate recycling amplification model based on a hierarchically mesoporous UiO-66-NH (HMAUiO) to address these difficulties. Such porous platform was constructed by the Hofmeister ion-assisted nanoemulsion method with mesoporous size beyond 20 nm, in which Pt (II) meso-tetra(4-carboxyphenyl)porphyrin (TCPP-Pt) was incorporated within the microporous framework to form an HMAUiO-Pt sensing probe.

Deglaciations and glacial inceptions are the two equally important transitional periods that bridge the glacial and interglacial climate states, yet our understanding of deglaciations far exceeds that of glacial inceptions. Substantial variations in deep ocean circulation accompanied the last deglaciation, and model simulations recently suggested that a weakening of the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (AMOC) also occurred at the last glacial inception (LGI; 113-119 thousand years ago), yet evidence of such a change remains inconclusive. Here, we report three Pa/Th records from the western and central North Atlantic that display an abrupt weakening of the AMOC at the LGI.

To improve the bioavailability and biological activity of recombinant type III humanized collagen (rhCol III), we optimized the preparation process of recombinant type III humanized collagen-loaded liposomes (rhCol III-LIPS) using the film dispersion and periplasmic extrusion methods, with the encapsulation rate as the response value. Then we analyzed the antioxidative activity of rhCol III-LIPS by determining the scavenging rate of free radicals. We investigated the protective effect of rhCol III-LIPS against HO-induced injuries in HaCaT cells by detecting cell vitality, contents of reactive oxygen species (ROS), malondialdehyde (MDA), and activities of antioxidases superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT), glutathione peroxidase dismutase (GSH-Px).

ERAP1 is a critical aminopeptidase that acts as the final "editor" of endogenous antigen peptides in the endoplasmic reticulum, playing a key role in the MHC-I-mediated antigen processing and presentation pathway. It has become a novel target for a broad class of severe autoimmune diseases, referred to as "MHC-I-opathy," as well as for tumor immune evasion. Here, we report the discovery of a food-derived natural product inhibitor, Corilagin, with a novel scaffold that directly interacts with ERAP1, identified through high-throughput screening.

The interaction between SCAF4 and RNA polymerase II (POLR2A) is crucial for proper mRNA termination, with its dysregulation leading to truncated mRNAs and nonfunctional proteins, impairing cellular growth. Despite its potential relevance, the role of this interaction in triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) remains unexplored due to the lack of effective molecular tools. To address this, we employed SRiApt, an aptamer generated through the recently established Blocker-SELEX pipeline.

Carbonate-based electrolytes possess high oxidative stability and solvation ability to Li in Li metal batteries (LMBs). However, they face significant challenges under cryogenic temperatures, including the sluggish reaction kinetics, uneven Li deposition, and severe interfacial side reactions, especially under the elevated cutoff voltages. Carboxylates usually have lower viscosity and freezing points.

Unlabelled: Zika virus (ZIKV) infection of neuronal cells leads to endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress, which is one of the key causes of neuronal damage. However, how ZIKV mediates ER stress has not been fully understood. Here, we observed that ZIKV infection of astrocytes elevated Sarco/endoplasmic reticulum Ca-ATPase (SERCA) expression, increased intracellular Ca concentration, and upregulated ER stress-related genes.
