Background: The postpartum period represents a critical period for both birthing and nonbirthing parents due to mental health concerns and new caregiving demands. Collaborative care models aim to address these needs, but postpartum care remains fragmented, lacking continuity and holistic support. Baby2Home (B2H) is a digital intervention rooted in the collaborative care model, specifically designed to support parents through their transition into parenthood by addressing their physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs.

Background: The treatment of osteoporotic vertebral compression fracture (OVCF) aims to alleviate pain and prevent further compression; however, compression often progresses during conservative treatments. Furthermore, studies on the factors affecting compression rate progression and the timing at which compression progresses the most are limited.
Methods: A total of 122 patients with OVCF, who were follow-up duration > 6 months, were included.
This multicenter prospective study investigated factors influencing mid-term health-related quality of life (HRQoL) among intensive care unit (ICU) survivors in Korea. Among 2,002 patients, 189 who completed follow-up assessments at 90 days post-discharge were included in the final analysis. HRQoL was measured using the five-level EuroQoL 5-Dimension (EQ-5D-5L) and Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS) at 30 and 90 days after discharge.

Purpose: Postoperative ileus (POI) typically occurs after abdominal surgery but can also affect patients undergoing spinal surgery via the lateral retroperitoneal approach, such as oblique lumbar interbody fusion (OLIF). Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the incidence and risk factors associated with POI in OLIF.
Methods: This retrospective study examined a cohort of 465 patients who underwent OLIF from 2015 to 2023.
Background: This study compares ultrasound and surgical findings of anatomical variations in de Quervain's disease.
Methods: Seventy-four wrists from patients with unilateral de Quervain's disease were examined through ultrasonography and surgery. Presence of intracompartment septum, abductor pollicis longus (APL) slips, and selective stenosis were verified by both methods.

Few studies have reported the epidemiology of lateral epicondylitis (LE) and medial epicondylitis (ME) in nationwide databases. This study aimed to investigate the epidemiology of LE and ME in South Korea. We analyzed data from the nationwide database of the Korean Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service from 2013 to 2017.

We investigated the initial management in patients presenting with sepsis in the general ward, the association between fluid resuscitation and clinical outcomes, and the factors affecting fluid resuscitation. A retrospective study was conducted on patients who presented with sepsis-induced hypotension in the general ward.

The primary types of CTDs that manifest as interstitial lung disease (ILD) include rheumatoid arthritis, systemic sclerosis, Sjögren's syndrome, mixed CTD, idiopathic inflammatory myopathies, and systemic lupus erythematosus. CTD-ILD presents a significant challenge in clinical diagnosis and management due to its heterogeneous nature and variable prognosis.

In order to survey novel hydrolytic enzymes, we constructed a fosmid metagenome library using unculturable intestinal microorganisms from . Through functional screening of the library on carboxymethyl cellulose plates, we identified a fosmid clone, the product of which displayed hydrolytic activity.

Radial probe endobronchial ultrasound-guided transbronchial lung biopsy (RP-EBUS-TBLB) is widely used to diagnose peripheral pulmonary lesions (PPLs). However, the efficacy and safety of this procedure for the diagnosis of PPLs in patients with COPD remain poorly understood.

Osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures (OVCF) significantly contribute to increased morbidity and mortality in aging populations. When adjusted for age, South Korea has the highest global prevalence of OVCF, with rates of 544 per 100,000 men and 1,575 per 100,000 women. Moreover, patients with OVCF are at a heightened risk of additional fractures, with the risk of new vertebral fractures being up to 5-fold higher.

Nonetheless, the CAM-ICU is burdened by various limitations, including a protracted learning curve and the need for frequent daily administration. The 4 A's Test (4AT) was formulated to assess delirium in hospitalized patients and may have distinct advantages over the CAM-ICU, particularly regarding practical applicability within the ICU bundle.

Evaluating frailty and preoperative status is crucial for predicting postoperative outcomes. This study aimed to assess the predictive value of the modified Frailty Index (mFI), sarcopenia, Prognostic Nutritional Index (PNI), and Geriatric Nutritional Risk Index (GNRI) in determining postoperative complications in patients undergoing oblique lumbar interbody fusion (OLIF) over 60 years.

Purpose: The use of inhaled bronchodilators is the mainstay of treatment for patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Although the soft mist inhaler (SMI) was developed to overcome the disadvantages of pressurized metered dose and drug powder inhalers, misuse during handling has been frequently observed in many studies. However, few studies have focused on SMI misuse among patients with COPD.

A prospective, multicenter study at 12 South Korean hospitals from January to December 2022 involved telephone interviews along with validated questionnaires. Among 696 participants with a median age of 32 and no prior diagnoses, 30% of participants experienced persistent fatigue, while 21.

Introduction: The long-term effects of fenestration in patients with Fontan circulation remain unclear. We aim to evaluate the fenestration impact on early and late outcomes in patients with extracardiac Fontan (ECF) using a propensity score matching analysis.
Methods: We performed an extensive retrospective multicenter clinical data review of the Korean Fontan registry and included 1,233 patients with surgical ECF (779 fenestrated, 454 non-fenestrated).
Background: The advent of the omicron variant and the formulation of diverse therapeutic strategies marked a new epoch in the realm of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Studies have compared the clinical outcomes between COVID-19 and seasonal influenza, but such studies were conducted during the early stages of the pandemic when effective treatment strategies had not yet been developed, which limits the generalizability of the findings. Therefore, an updated evaluation of the comparative analysis of clinical outcomes between COVID-19 and seasonal influenza is requisite.
