Solid-nanopores/nanopipettes have the exquisite ability to reveal the changes in molecular volume due to the advantages of adjustable size, good rigidity and low noise. Herein, a new platform for sensing application was established based on G-quadruplex-hemin DNAzyme (GQH) functionalized gold-coated nanopipettes. In this method, GQH was immobilized on gold-coated nanopipette, which could be used as a catalyst for the reaction of HO with 2,2'-azino-bis (3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) diammonium salt (ABTS) to promote the conversion of ABTS to ABTS ions inside gold-coated nanopipette, and the change of transmembrane ion current could be monitored in real time.

Field-independent and field-dependent individuals have different reference patterns and cognitive processing preferences. Field-independent individuals tend to rely on internal capabilities and use internal references to process information, while field-dependent individuals mainly rely on external references and focus on external information. Individuals with two cognitive styles have different attention patterns to perform time-based prospective memory (TBPM) tasks, with different effects on their TBPM performance.

Article Synopsis
  • The study investigates how specific amino acid sequences in the S2 subunit of the avian gamma-coronavirus infectious bronchitis viruses (IBV) impact their ability to infect chicken embryonic kidney cells, with a focus on a particular substitution at position L1089.
  • Researchers created seven mutant strains by inserting the S2 gene from a non-adapted strain into a strain adapted to chicken cells, revealing that the L1089I substitution hinders IBV growth and reduces its ability to cause kidney disease.
  • The findings suggest that the L1089I substitution disrupts virus-cell fusion necessary for viral replication without affecting initial virus attachment, highlighting the potential for developing targeted vaccines and treatments against IBV.

Studies have found that Westerners recognize own-race faces with left visual lateralization (from the viewer's perspective), but whether subjects recognize own- and other-race faces with similar degrees of left visual lateralization is unclear. In the present study, two experiments were conducted to clarify this issue. In Experiment 1, faces were divided into left and right sides to ascertain whether Chinese subjects scanned the left side of Chinese and Western faces more often than the right side.

Simple biomolecule-based supramolecular nanomedicines hold great promise in cancer therapy, but their clinical translation is greatly hindered by low tumor-specificity and unsatisfactory antitumor performance. Herein, we developed an amino acid basedsupramolecular nanomedicine that could be co-activated by multiple stimuli in tumor tissue to trigger cascade catalytic reactions for synergetic therapy. The supramolecular nanomedicine was developed based on a combination of coordination and hydrophobic noncovalent interactions among amphiphilic amino acids, glucose oxidase (GOx), copper ions, as well as doxorubicin (DOX)-camptothecin (CPT) prodrugs.

A multicolor fluorescent nanoprobe has been prepared by loading bovine serum albumin-stabilized copper nanoclusters (BSA-Cu NCs) onto amino clay (AC) and grafting Eu with auxiliary ligand citric acid (Cit). Tetracycline (TC) can coordinate with Eu by β-diketone structure and transfer energy to Eu through antenna effect. When the concentration of TC is in the range 0 to 13 μM, the blue emission intensity of BSA-CuNCs is basically unchanged, and the red emission of Eu is remarkably enhanced due to the coordination with TC.
