Purpose: Autistic children and their families from heritage-language-speaking homes are underrepresented in empirical research and would benefit from receiving care tailored to their linguistic and cultural needs. Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) commonly support autistic children in the United States but have reported limited knowledge and training in how to support bilingual children, their families, nor the bilingual staff who support them. The following research question was addressed: Do BCBA leaders in autism care who complete an asynchronous online professional development training demonstrate (a) increased knowledge, (b) improved self-efficacy, and (c) improved attitudes toward supporting multilingual Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) staff and recipients of multilingual ABA services compared to BCBA leaders in a waitlist-control group?
Method: Part of a larger sequential exploratory mixed methods study, this randomized waitlist control trial measured the impacts of a professional development training related to autism and multilingualism in ABA care on BCBAs' knowledge, self-efficacy, and attitudes.

Aim: To explore the molecular mechanism underlying the protective effect of hypothermic perfusion on the corneal endothelium during phacoemulsification.
Methods: Phacoemulsification was performed on New Zealand white rabbits. Perfusate at different temperatures was used during the operation, and the aqueous humor was collected for proteomic sequencing after the operation.
Using synthetic microbial communities to promote host growth is an effective approach. However, the construction of such communities lacks theoretical guidance. Kin discrimination is an effective means by which strains can recognize themselves from non-self, and construct competitive microbial communities to produce more secondary metabolites.

Biocontrol of subterranean termites is largely impeded by their social immune responses. Studies on biocontrol agents combined with natural insecticides and their possible effects on the immune defense mechanisms of termites are limited. In this study, we investigated the effects of a combined biocontrol strategy using a plant-derived insect ATPase inhibitor, α-terpineol, with the entomopathogenic nematodes (EPNs) Steinernema carpocapsae against the subterranean termite Coptotermes formosanus Shiraki.

GAS41, a member of the human YEATS domain family, plays a pivotal role in human cancer development. It serves as a highly promising epigenetic reader, facilitating precise regulation of cell growth and development by recognizing essential histone modifications, including histone acetylation, benzoylation, succinylation, and crotonylation. Functional readouts of these histone modifications often coincide with cancer progression.

Background: Pediatric uveitis may cause severe impairment of vision in children and affect their quality of life as well as cognitive ability. This study aims to evaluate the functional vision, visual-related and health-related quality of life, and cognitive ability in pediatric uveitis.
Methods: Children with uveitis aged 5-16 years old completed six validated instruments to assess functional visual ability with Cardiff Visual Ability Questionnaire for Children (CVAQC), vision-related quality of life with Impact of Vision Impairment for Children (IVI-C), health-related quality of life with Pediatric Quality of Life Inventory (PedsQL), cognitive ability with Chinese Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children (C-WISC), and depression and anxiety evaluation with Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HAD).
Four Gram-negative bacterial strains isolated from entomopathogenic nematodes were biochemically and molecularly characterized to determine their taxonomic position. Results of 16S rRNA gene sequencing indicated that they belong to the class , family , genus , and that they are conspecific. The average 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity between the newly isolated strains and the type strain of its more closely related species, T228, is 99.

To illustrate the influence of R31 on the quality, transcriptome and metabolome of sweet corn, field studies were conducted at a corn experimental base in Zhuhai City. The results show that, after application of R31, sweet corn was more fruitful, with a 18.

One such option is the use of entomopathogenic nematodes (EPN). To increase the availability of EPN with potential for biocontrol, we surveyed agricultural soils in the Republic of Rwanda and collected two isolates.

Despite the surge of interests, questions remain as to what specific linguistic knowledge, skills, and strategies EI measures. To contribute to this line of inquiry, this study explored the nature of strategy use and its effect on EI performance to elucidate the constructs of EI.

Background: Aiming at spectacle independence, conventional pseudophakic monovision has been widely used in myopia patients with bilateral monofocal intraocular lens implantation. However, the crossed monovision, which is to correct the dominant eye for near vision and the non-dominant eye for distant vision, has been mentioned preferable for high myopic cataract patients by some studies. We have conducted this study to compare clinical results to assess the feasibility of conventional and crossed monovision for high myopic pseudophakic patients by comparing patient satisfaction, visual function and spectacle independence.

Gastric cancer is one of the most frequently diagnosed cancer and poses a serious threat to health system in the world. Upregulation of meningioma-associated protein (MAC30) has been found in many solid tumors and can regulate the proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis of different tumor cells. Quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) was used to detect the expression of MAC30 in 68 patients with gastric cancer and their adjacent tissues.

This study aimed to explore the clinicopathological and prognostic role of EIF3M in patients with colon adenocarcinoma. A total of 82 pathology specimens, 20 freeze-thawed tumors and 80 healthy controls were used to investigate the expression of EIF3M in colon adenocarcinoma through immunohistochemistry, western blotting, RT-qPCR and ELISA.
