IRON MAN (IMA) peptides, a family of small peptides, control iron (Fe) transport in plants, but their roles in Fe signaling remain unclear. BRUTUS (BTS) is a potential Fe sensor that negatively regulates Fe homeostasis by promoting the ubiquitin-mediated degradation of bHLH105 and bHLH115, two positive regulators of the Fe deficiency response. In this study, the whole mtDNA genome of Simao Chinese indigenous dog was amplified and sequenced. Our data showed that the whole mtDNA genome of Simao Chinese indigenous dog includes 16,730 base pairs (bps). The Simao Chinese indigenous dog mitochondrial genome included structural organization and base composition of the rRNAs, tRNAs and protein-coding genes, as well as characteristics of tRNAs.

Purpose: To devise a comprehensive classification system for isolated ring-little finger metacarpal synostosis that offers a clear guide to specific treatment for each variation of the deformity.

Methods: Based on the experience of 13 cases (20 hands) of isolated ring-little finger metacarpal synostosis, we devised a classification system that takes into account 2 key pathological features of this malformation: the fourth-fifth intermetacarpal angle and the severity of hypoplasia of the fifth ray. In our classification, all patients were divided into 3 types, according to the fourth-fifth intermetacarpal angle, and each type was further subdivided into 2 subtypes according to the length of the fifth ray.

Dynamic resistive memory devices based on a conjugated polymer composite (PPy(0)DBS(-)Li(+) (PPy: polypyrrole; DBS(-): dodecylbenzenesulfonate)), with field-driven ion migration, have been demonstrated. In this work the dynamics of these systems has been investigated and it has been concluded that increasing the applied field can dramatically increase the rate at which information can be 'written' into these devices. A conductance model using space charge limited current coupled with an electric field induced ion reconfiguration has been successfully utilized to interpret the experimentally observed transient conducting behaviors.

Compensation doping of conjugated polymers is used to create a composite that contains a sufficient level of ions to support the doped form of the polymer upon removal of the compensating ion. Interfacing this form of conjugated polymer with another semiconductor capable of becoming doped upon uptake of the compensating ion allows a field-driven change in conductivity to be achieved in the solid state. As a result, this system is capable of rectification as well as the storage of charge and can be highly tunable.

We have detected the intrinsic size of Sagittarius A*, the Galactic center radio source associated with a supermassive black hole, showing that the short-wavelength radio emission arises from very near the event horizon of the black hole. Radio observations with the Very Long Baseline Array show that the source has a size of 24 +/- 2 Schwarzschild radii at 7-millimeter wavelength. In one of eight 7-millimeter epochs, we also detected an increase in the intrinsic size of 60(-17)(+25)%.
