Objective: To explore the predictive potential of prenatal ultrasound features and their capacity to differentiate biliary atresia (BA) in fetuses exhibiting biliary abnormalities.
Methods: Data of pregnant women who underwent routine fetal ultrasound screening during the second trimester (18-27 weeks) were retrospectively analyzed in the 2018-2022 period. Fetuses with suspected biliary abnormalities in the second trimester were identified, and the cases were categorized into 5 groups: enlarged fetal gallbladder, small fetal gallbladder, non-visualized fetal gallbladder, hepatic hilar cyst, and fetal duplicated gallbladder.

Objective: To investigate the prenatal ultrasound features of fetal ductal-dependent congenital heart disease (DDCHD), analyze their association with chromosomal abnormalities, and summarize clinical outcomes.
Method: A retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinical and ultrasound data of 308 fetuses diagnosed with DDCHD at our center over the past 10 years. The ultrasound characteristics of each DDCHD type during early pregnancy were systematically summarized.
Serial lung recruitment assessment in neonates with moderate-to-severe neonatal acute respiratory distress syndrome (NARDS) is crucial. However, current methods involve ionizing radiation or invasiveness, which limits their serial use in neonates. This study evaluated the feasibility of rib-indexed quantitative lung ultrasound (LUS) as a radiation-free alternative for monitoring lung aeration in neonates with moderate-to-severe NARDS on surfactant therapy combined with prone position.

The study aimed to develop a multimodal model incorporated with uncertainty estimation by integrating sonographic images and clinical information to help diagnose BA. Multiple models were trained on 384 infants and validated externally on 156 infants.

The mesenchymal and endothelial cell subsets altered in the interstitial BM and focal lesions (FLs) of patients newly diagnosed with myeloma, as well as in the myelomasupportive human bone of the SCID-hu mouse model, were identified using single-cell atlases and gene expression profiling. The mesenchymal compartment showed enriched cells reflecting matrix cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) and vascular CAFs/pericytes in FLs compared to interstitial BM and in myeloma interstitial BM compared to healthy donors.

Methods: We analyzed the clinical ultrasonographic characteristics of PHLNs in 27 patients with BA, along with specific pathological features, including pathological size, the number of bile granules, the number of germinal centers, the proportion of lymphocytes, and the analysis of liver biopsy specimens. A series of correlation analyses were then performed between ultrasonography data, pathological features, and prognosis.

Objectives: To evaluate the efficacy of prenatal ultrasound in diagnosing pulmonary atresia with intact ventricular septum (PA/IVS).
Methods: This retrospective study analyzed 48 cases of PA/IVS at the Fujian Maternity and Child Health Hospital between January 2013 and December 2023. Prenatal ultrasound was used to characterize and classify the features of PA/IVS.
Total anomalous pulmonary venous connection (TAPVC) is a rare congenital heart defect where the pulmonary veins abnormally connect to the systemic venous circulation, rather than the left atrium (LA). This study retrospectively analyzed 48 children diagnosed with TAPVC from January 2014 to January 2024 to investigate how specific echocardiographic and morphological characteristics impact prognosis. Perioperative records, including echocardiography, computed tomography angiography (CTA) images, surgical details, and patient outcomes, were reviewed.

Background: Atmospheric particulate matter (PM) is a complex mixture with a wide range of sources, but only a limited proportion can be identified by existing analytical techniques. Comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC × GC-MS) couples the advantages on high resolution, sensitivity, and peak capacity on gas chromatography, together with the high mass accuracy and acquisition frequency of time-of-flight mass spectrometry (TOFMS). GC × GC-MS has been gradually applied on the analysis of environmental organic pollutants.

However, the lack of effective tumor delivery platforms hampers this approach. Here, a gelatin-based platform is designed that is preloaded with gold nanoparticles and photothermal polypyrrole (GNPs@AuNPs-PPy) with an acid-induced doping enhancement.

While point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS)-based tip navigation and location has improved this scenario by enabling real-time visualisation of the catheter tip during UVC, challenges remain when the catheter is inadvertently inserted into an incorrect vessel. Selecting effective intervention methods to correct the catheter direction has become a key research focus.

Methods: A retrospective analysis of data from 31 HS fetuses prenatally diagnosed with HS. Diagnoses were confirmed by follow-up prenatal ultrasound and in some cases postnatal ultrasound or autopsy.
Revealing the sources, composition and fate of riverine dissolved organic matter (DOM) is fundamental to understanding the biogeochemical cycles of aquatic ecosystems. This study aimed to reveal the impact of land uses and wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) on riverine DOM. Spatiotemporal variations in molecular characteristics of riverine DOM in the river network containing 15 tributaries in the mainstream of upper Hanjiang River were studied.

Objective: The aim was to summarise the prenatal ultrasound characteristics, associated anomalies and pregnancy outcomes of fetal right aortic arch (RAA) and to discuss the value of prenatal ultrasound diagnosis and prognostic analysis.
Methods: We retrospectively analysed 157 cases of fetal RAA diagnosed via prenatal ultrasound in our hospital from October 2017 to October 2022. RAA features were characterised by comparing prenatal ultrasound data with anatomical casting results after pregnancy termination or postnatal imaging and surgical intervention to analyse the prognosis and misdiagnoses of fetal RAA.

Pyroptosis is linked to the development of acute lung injury (ALI), and circular RNAs (circRNAs) play a role in ALI-related inflammation. However, the mechanisms by which circRNAs contribute to macrophage pyroptosis in ALI remain unclear. This study constructed an in vitro ALI model by inducing THP-1 cells with phorbol 12-myristate 13-acetate (PMA) and lipopolysaccharide (LPS).

Introduction: This study evaluates the clinical value of a deep learning-based artificial intelligence (AI) system that performs rapid brain volumetry with automatic lobe segmentation and age- and sex-adjusted percentile comparisons.
Methods: Fifty-five patients-17 with Alzheimer's disease (AD), 18 with frontotemporal dementia (FTD), and 20 healthy controls-underwent cranial magnetic resonance imaging scans. Two board-certified neuroradiologists (BCNR), two board-certified radiologists (BCR), and three radiology residents (RR) assessed the scans twice: first without AI support and then with AI assistance.
Objective: This study aims to analyze the value of prenatal ultrasound in the screening, diagnosis, and treatment of double aortic arch (DAA) malformations.

Rationale: The development of analytical screening techniques for pesticides is crucial for preventing and mitigating environmental contamination. Mass spectrometry-based screening methods differ based on the complexity of the sample matrix and the diversity of the target compounds. One of the major challenges is balancing cost reduction in the extraction process with the optimization of analytical results.

Methods: To determine the role of SIRT3 in osteoclast mitochondria, we used mice with conditional loss of Sirt3 in osteoclast lineage and mice with germline deletion of either Sirt3 or its known target Pink1.
Results: SIRT3 stimulates mitochondrial quality in osteoclasts in a PINK1-independent manner, promoting mitochondrial activity and osteoclast maturation and function, thereby contributing to bone loss in female but not male mice.
