Purpose: As accelerated partial breast irradiation is gaining widespread acceptance for low-risk breast cancers treated with breast conservation, its role following oncoplastic surgery remains controversial.

Methods And Materials: We performed a prospective phase 2 trial of women aged 50 and older who were estrogen receptor positive with stage 0 to 1 breast cancer measuring ≤3 cm following successful lumpectomy with optional oncoplastic reconstruction. Patients were treated on the Varian Edge radiosurgery system to a prescribed dose of 30 Gy in 5 fractions, and the primary endpoints were feasibility and safety.

Purpose: Although partial breast irradiation (PBI) is accepted as an effective and cosmesis-preserving technique for low-risk early-stage breast cancer following standard lumpectomy, data supporting PBI following oncoplastic surgery are sparse. We report prospective data in efforts to determine whether PBI can be safely utilized after oncoplastic surgery.

Methods: Patients with low-risk stage 0-1 breast cancer following successful lumpectomy with optional oncoplastic reconstruction were enrolled on a phase II trial.

Distant metastases account for ~ 90% of cancer deaths and major responses with systemic therapy alone for metastatic cancers are so rare that the National Cancer Institute launched the Exceptional Responders Initiative. Comprehensive involved site radiotherapy (ISRT) is a promising treatment for oligometastases but the role of circulating tumor DNA to confirm durable molecular response following treatment remains unexplored. Among 597 consecutive patients with distant metastases treated with radiation therapy from 2014 to 2021, 133 (22%) were oligometastatic and 464 (78%) were polymetastatic.

We aimed to identify maternal characteristics predicting interpretation of infant emotions, as well as relations between such interpretations and mother-infant stress. Specifically, we investigated (1) prospective associations between maternal dispositional mindfulness and interpretation of infant emotions, and (2) concurrent associations between maternal interpretation of infant emotions and mothers' and infants' cortisol during a dyadic stressor in a non-clinical community sample ( = 78) of mother-infant dyads. Mothers completed the Five Facet Mindfulness Questionnaire at 3 months postnatal, and the IFEEL Picture infant emotion interpretation task at 6 months postnatal.

Introduction: Despite recent advances in drug development, durable complete remissions with systemic therapy alone for metastatic cancers remain infrequent. With the development of advanced radiation technologies capable of selectively sparing normal tissues, patients with oligometastases are often amenable to comprehensive involved site radiotherapy with curative intent. This study reports the long-term outcomes and patterns of failure for patients treated with total metastatic ablation often in combination with systemic therapy.

Background: Immunotherapy currently stands as a novel treatment option, specifically in cases of advanced non-small cell lung carcinoma (NSCLC). Expression of programmed death ligand-1 (PD-L1) in tumor cells forms the mainstay for the use of anti-PD-L1 monoclonal antibodies in the treatment of NSCLC.

Aims: The objectives of the study were to assess utility of cell blocks for testing of PD-L1 in adenocarcinoma lung and to compare the expression of PD-L1 in cell blocks and the corresponding biopsy specimens.

Objective: An increasing number of vocal fold cysts excised, as compared to polyps, over the last decade led us to review these cases. We found a statistically significant increase in cysts excised as compared to polyps, over the latter 5-year period (2013-2017). This prompted us to analyze possible factors responsible for this increase.

Myxoinflammatory fibroblastic sarcoma (MIFS) is a rare soft tissue sarcoma which was initially observed in acral sites and characterised by spindle cells, pleomorphic bizarre cells and distinctive large Reed-Sternberg-like cells admixed with an intense inflammatory cell infiltrates. MIFS manifests as a slow growing often superficial lesion which can be mistaken as infectious or chronic inflammatory process or benign tumours such as nodular fasciitis, giant cell tumour of tendon sheath or synovial pseudocyst. We report a rare presentation of a MIFS in a 38-year-old man with extensive local spread from subcutaneous tissue to the ankle joint and bones as well as multiple synchronous metastases to lung, sixth rib and vertebra.
