Aims: To investigate the impact of iodine uptake variability (IUV) as a predictive biomarker associated with Graves Disease (GD) on the success rate of radioiodine (RAI) therapy for GD within 36 months, and discover IUV indicators for predicting GD prognosis.
Materials And Methods: This retrospective study included patients with GD who underwent RAI therapy at the Second Affiliated Hospital of Anhui Medical University between October 2012 and October 2022. Spearman correlation and maximal information coefficient analyses were used, along with hierarchical clustering and Kaplan-Meier survival analysis.
Secretion and folding are common bottlenecks in protein expression using eukaryotic systems, and engineering the secretory pathway to enhance host cell capabilities is a key strategy for improving protein secretion. However, secretion is a very complex process, making the identification of likely targets for engineering a formidable task. In this study, using glucose oxidase (GOX) expression in Pichia pastoris (Komagataella phaffii) as a model, we introduce a strategy called Hac1p-based inverse secretory pathway engineering (Hi-SPE).

Therefore, it is still a challenge for the cleaner treatment technology and high-value utilization. In this study, we extracted the biochemical fulvic acid (BFA) from crop straw, and then synthesized a novel biomass-based tanning agent (BAA) by coordination of BFA with Al.

In this paper, polyphenolamine (PPA) with a dopamine-like structure was synthesized by a one-step method using tannic acid (TA) and polyethyleneimine (PEI) as raw materials. The PPA with different isoelectric points are obtained by adjusting the ratios of TA and PEI, which enables the charge regulation of PPA within pH 6-9.

Methods: We collected a cohort of East Asian individuals comprising 206 pediatric patients with SSNS and 435 healthy controls from Southwest China.

Objective: To develop and evaluate the effectiveness of multimodal machine learning approach for the differentiation of NTM from MTB.
Methods: The clinical data and CT images of 175 patients were retrospectively obtained. We established clinical data-based model, radiomics-based model, and multimodal (clinical plus radiomics) model gradually using 5 machine learning algorithms (Logistic, XGBoost, AdaBoost, RandomForest, and LightGBM).

Objective: To investigate the probability of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) in a large number of gray-zone (GZ) patients with chronic hepatitis B (CHB) in clinical practice.
Methods: The patients with CHB who were diagnosed and treated in our hospital from January 2013 to January 2023 were analyzed retrospectively.
Results: According to the different levels of HBeAg, ALT and HBV DNA, GZ patients were divided into four categories: (1) Gray zone A (GZ-A): HBeAg positive, normal ALT level, HBV DNA ≤ 10 IU/ml; (2) Gray zone B (GZ-B): HBeAg positive, ALT>ULN, HBV DNA ≤ 2 × 10 IU/ml; (3) Gray zone C (GZ-C): HBeAg negative, normal ALT level, HBV DNA ≥ 2 × 10 IU/ml; and (4) Gray zone D (GZ-D): HBeAg negative, ALT > ULN, serum HBV DNA ≤ 2 × 10 IU/ml.
Objective: 28-55% of chronic hepatitis B (CHB) patients belong to the grey zone (GZ). By analyzing the pathological characteristics of the liver of patients in the GZ, this study clarified whether the patients in the GZ need anti-hepatitis B virus treatment.
Method: We reviewed 324 cases of liver pathology that underwent liver biopsy between 2011 and 2022.

Objective: The main purpose was to evaluate the efficacy and tolerability of different medications used to treat bulimia nervosa (BN).
Methods: Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) were identified from published sources through searches in PubMed, Cochrane Library, Web of Science, and Embase from inception to November 2022. Primary outcomes were changes in the frequency of binge eating episodes and vomiting episodes from baseline to endpoint.

The efficacy of human amniotic mesenchymal stem cell (hAMSC) ovarian injection in improving ovarian function in primary ovarian insufficiency (POI) patients has been shown in some reports. However, the safety and efficacy of hAMSC vein injection remains unclear. In this study, we evaluated the safety and efficacy of hAMSC intravenous injection in cynomolgus macaques and SD rats and provided evidence for clinical trials.

Methods: We performed single-cell transcriptome sequencing and single-cell B cell receptor sequencing on circulating CD19 cells and kidney cells of a NEG paediatric patient with pMN. The single-cell datasets of POS patients and healthy control individuals were included for integrative analysis.

Background/aim: Current NPC treatment methods have improved the 5-year survival rates of patients; however, some patients do not benefit from the treatments. Therefore, the existing treatment methods or new drugs must be developed to improve the patient's prognosis. NAD (P)H:quinone oxidoreductase 1 (NQO1), an electron reductase highly expressed in various cancers, can convert aziridinyl-substituted quinone-derived compound into an alkylating agent, resulting in cell apoptosis.

Objective: COQ8B nephropathy is a relatively rare autosomal recessive kidney disease characterized by proteinuria and a progressive deterioration of renal function, eventually leading to end-stage renal disease (ESRD). The objective is to study the characteristics and correlation between the genotype and the clinical phenotype of COQ8B nephropathy.
Methods: This is a retrospective study focusing on the clinical characteristics of seven COQ8B nephropathy patients diagnosed by gene sequencing.
Quasi-periodic pulsations (QPPs) are frequently detected in solar and stellar flares, but the underlying physical mechanisms are still to be ascertained. Here, we show microwave QPPs during a solar flare originating from quasi-periodic magnetic reconnection at the flare current sheet. They appear as two vertically detached but closely related sources with the brighter ones located at flare loops and the weaker ones along the stretched current sheet.

Ribonuclease P protein subunit p30 () is a highly conserved housekeeping gene that exists in many species and tissues throughout the three life kingdoms (archaea, bacteria, and eukaryotes). is closely related to a few types of tumors in human diseases but has a very stable transcription level in most cases. Based on this feature, increasing number of studies have used as an internal reference gene.
