In this study, a preparation method of superhydrophobic composite coating based on a titanium alloy (Ti-6Al-4V) substrate is proposed. The micro-scale pit array structure was fabricated via laser etching technology. Utilizing the synergistic effects of epoxy resin (EP), polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS), and fluorinated nanosilica (F-SiO), we successfully prepared an EP@PDMS@F-SiO composite coating.

How NLRP3 senses these unrelated stimuli and what activates NLRP3 remain unknown. Here we report that signal-dependent NLRP3 phase separation initiated its activation, in which the palmitoyltransferase ZDHHC7-mediated tonic NLRP3 palmitoylation and an IDR region in the FISNA domain of NLRP3 play important roles.

Ammonia-N stress from aquaculture system can interfere physiological function in shrimp leading to constant oxidative stress and apoptosis, but little is known concerning the upstream regulators. In this study, survival analysis and Western blot was perform to determine the optimal concentration and inhibitory effect on NF-κB pathway inhibitor (PDTC). Then the influence of 30 mg/kg PDTC on the ammonia-N tolerance, antioxidation, and apoptosis in L.

Inspired by the scale structures on biological surfaces in nature, laser surface texturing technology was employed to fabricate diamond-shaped biomimetic micro-textures with different angles and area densities on the surface of titanium alloy (Ti6Al4V). The coupling effect of scale-like biomimetic micro-textures and polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) coatings on the frictional properties of Ti6Al4V were explored.

However, recent insights have revealed its significant impact on neurological disorders. This comprehensive review discussed the mechanisms underlying the activation and regulation of the NLRC4 inflammasome, highlighting the complexity of its response to cellular stress and damage signals.

View Article and Find Full Text PDFInspired by the ultrafast directional water transport structure of Sarracenia trichomes, hierarchical textured surfaces with specific microgrooves were prepared based on laser processing combined with dip modification, in response to the growing problem of freshwater scarcity. The prepared surfaces were tested for droplet transport behavior to investigate the relationship between the surface structure and the driving force of directional water transport and their effects on the water transport distance and water transport velocity. The results showed that surfaces with a superhydrophobic background associated channels of multirib structures, and a dual-gradient surface of gradient hydrophobic background associated channels with gradient structure performed the best in terms of water transport efficiency.

Zinc is essential for all organisms as a trace element, but its functions in innate immunity remain undefined. Here, we reported that Zn2+ inhibits caspase-1 to hinder inflammasome activation.

Freshwater shortage is a growing problem. Inspired by the Sarracenia trichome fog-trapping and ultrafast water-transport structure, a series of hierarchical textured surfaces with high-low ribs with different wettabilities was prepared based on laser processing combined with dip modification. Through fog-collection performance tests, it was found that the samples with superhydrophobicity and low adhesion had the best fog-collection effect.

Recovery mechanisms post exposure to nitrite in shrimp have rarely been investigated. This study focuses on the effect of nitrite exposure and post-exposure recovery on the histological and physiological aspects of Litopenaeus vannamei and utilizes transcriptome sequencing to analyze the molecular mechanisms of adaptation to nitrite exposure.

Exposure to excess ammonia-N (NH/NH) in aquaculture can disrupt physiological function in shrimp leading to enhanced oxidative stress and apoptosis, but little is known concerning the post-transcriptional regulation mechanism. In this study, the first miR-200 family member in crustacean was identified and characterized from Litopenaeus vannamei (designed as Lva-miR-8-3p). Lva-miR-8-3p was highly expressed in eyestalks, brainganglion, and gills.

Background: Previous studies have indicated bidirectional associations between urate levels and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), including ulcerative colitis (UC) and Crohn's disease (CD). However, it remains unclear whether the observations are causal because of confounding factors.
Aim: To investigate the causal associations between urate levels and IBD using bidirectional Mendelian randomization (MR).

The tropical Pacific warming pattern since the 1950s exhibits two warming centers in the western Pacific (WP) and eastern Pacific (EP), encompassing an equatorial central Pacific (CP) cooling and a hemispheric asymmetry in the subtropical EP. The underlying mechanisms of this warming pattern remain debated. Here, we conduct ocean heat decompositions of two coupled model large ensembles to unfold the role of wind-driven ocean circulation.

Ammonia nitrogen is one of the main toxic substances in aquatic cultivation environments. Chronic exposure to excessive amounts of ammonia-N creates toxic consequences, retarding the growth of aquatic organisms. This study investigated the growth performance, morphological and physiological alterations, and transcriptome changes in the hepatopancreas and gills of white shrimp .

To identify the genes associated with ammonia nitrogen tolerance, we performed an extreme phenotype genome-wide association study method (XP-GWAS) on a population of 200 individuals. The single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) genotyping array method was used to construct the libraries and 36,048 SNPs were genotyped.

Bisphenol A (BPA) is a widely used endocrine disruptor, which has attracted much attention due to its harmful effects on male reproduction. To investigate the interference of BPA on steroid synthesis in males, male rare minnows (Gobiocypris rarus) were exposed to 15 μg L BPA for 7, 14 and 21 d. Meanwhile, a positive control group was performed with 25 ng L 17α-ethynyl estradiol (EE2).

In view of this situation. For the purpose of further analysis the effect of power output characteristics on the tracking ability of the system, and to enhance the reliability and energy utilization of renewable energy generation system.
