Patient medical history is critical for dental clinicians (DCs) to provide high quality clinical care. A web-based application can be used to retrieve patients' medical histories from health information exchanges and electronic medical records and bring up-to-date information to DCs. The objective of this project was to study how DCs review retrieved patients' medical histories using a Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR®) based patient medical summary (PMS) application developed by the research team.

However, its relationship with oral health remains insufficiently explored. This study analyzed data from the 2009-2014 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES), including 3,938 participants, to investigate the association between VAI and oral health, as well as the potential mediating role of the Systemic Immune-Inflammation Index (SII).

Odontogenic infections are a major contributor to the occurrence of maxillofacial space infections (MSI) worldwide. Despite effective management, MSI can lead to severe complications. This study aimed to identify patient characteristics, treatment strategies, and outcomes associated with MSI in a specialized healthcare setting, focusing on risk factors for life-threatening complications.

Reversible adhesives are crucial for enabling high-strength, eco-friendly bonding with on-demand detachment, yet achieving fully sustainable adhesives with high-strength and reliable detachment remains a challenge. Here, a supramolecular adhesive derived from natural materials is presented, namely, a supramolecular adhesive tailored by organic solvents (SATO), comprising tannic acid, β-cyclodextrin, and organic solvents (DMSO, ethylene glycol, or glycerol) integrated through dynamic hydrogen-bond networks. The optimized SATO achieves robust interfacial adhesion strength up to 4.

Tall fescue (Festuca arundinacea) can potentially be utilized as an accumulator species for cadmium (Cd) phytoremediation, whereas Cd toxicity can be alleviated by citric acid (CA). This study systematically explored the mechanisms of CA in reducing the toxicity of Cd to tall fescue from morph-physiological, biochemical, ecological and bioinformatics perspectives. Results showed that CA enhanced energy via the tricarboxylic acid cycle and increased antioxidants through the phenylpropanoid and amino acids metabolic pathways, thereby stabilizing photosynthesis and improving Cd tolerance in tall fescue.

In the context of high-throughput sequencing, the reconstruction of 3D human facial images from DNA is becoming a revolutionary approach for identifying individuals based on unknown biological specimens. Inspired by artificial intelligence techniques in text-to-image synthesis, it proposes Difface, a multi-modality model designed to reconstruct 3D facial images only from DNA.

Objective: Radioresistance is a common cause of poor radiation therapy effectiveness for non-small cell lung cancer. Finding molecular targets or methods to enhance radiosensitivity or overcome radioresistance is crucial. This study aimed to investigate the effects of MDMX on modulating radiosensitivity in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) and squamous cell carcinoma (LUSC).

Despite the well-established link between oral and systemic health, the association between LAP and oral health remains largely unexplored.
Methods: Data from 7,124 participants aged over 18 years from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) between 2009 and 2014 were analyzed.
Background: Myocardial pathology (scar and edema) segmentation plays a crucial role in the diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis of myocardial infarction (MI). However, the current mainstream models for myocardial pathology segmentation have the following limitations when faced with cardiac magnetic resonance(CMR) images with multiple objects and large changes in object scale: the remote modeling ability of convolutional neural networks is insufficient, and the computational complexity of transformers is high, which makes myocardial pathology segmentation challenging.
Purpose: This study aims to develop a novel model to address the image characteristics and algorithmic challenges faced in the myocardial pathology segmentation task and improve the accuracy and efficiency of myocardial pathology segmentation.

Objectives: To investigate dome-shaped macula (DSM) in mild myopic or non-myopic eyes.
Methods: Participants aged 50 years or older were recruited from July 2023 to August 2023. Clinical features including age, sex, visual acuity (VA), spherical equivalent refraction (SER), ocular biometry parameters, SS-OCT parameters and macular complications were compared between eyes with and without DSM.
Introduction: Acute primary angle closure (APAC) is a common ophthalmic emergency for Chinese patients causing potential visual disabilities. According to current guidelines published by developed countries, a stepwise protocol (medication laser or paracentesis surgery) is recommended for emergency management of APAC. However, patients with APAC in China and developed countries differ in disease characteristics as the Chinese have longer attack duration and lower success rate in breaking the attack with solely medication or laser therapy.

Despite separate studies on both illnesses, no research has directly examined the link between depressive symptoms and periodontitis in obese people. Given the close correlation between obesity and chronic illnesses, as well as the possibility of a bidirectional impact between depressive symptoms and periodontitis, this study aims to investigate the link between depressive symptoms and periodontitis in an obese population.

Purpose: To elucidate the genetic basis of primary angle-closure glaucoma (PACG) by identifying pathogenic tissue and critical tissue-specific variants.
Methods: The correlations among PACG susceptibility, axial length (AL), and anterior chamber depth (ACD) were evaluated using meta-analyses. Propensity score matching was utilized on 2161 participants from the Handan Eye Study to determine the risk factors independent of ACD and AL for PACG.
Objective: Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) to the left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (L-DLPFC) has an improving effect in cognitive function, but it is still not clear in what specific cognitive domains. We here combined a single session of TMS (HF-rTMS/iTBS) with electroencephalography (EEG) to clarify the effects of magnetic stimulation techniques on executive function, working memory, and visuospatial attention in healthy participants, and to investigate the underlying neurophysiological mechanisms.
Methods: Fifty-one healthy participants were randomly assigned to three stimulation groups (HF-rTMS, iTBS, and sham groups).
Cardiometabolic index (CMI) is a novel anthropometric metric that integrates lipid and adiposity characteristics. The correlation between periodontitis development and CMI is ambiguous. The objective of this study was to establish the association between CMI and periodontitis by analyzing data from the NHANES (National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey) database.

Background: Dental informatics (DI) is an emerging discipline. Although the accreditation agency governing dental education programs asserts the importance of informatics as foundational knowledge, no well-defined DI courses currently exist within the standard predoctoral dental curriculum. There is a nationwide lack of DI academic programs.
