Background: This retrospective study evaluated the predictive value of preoperative albumin–bilirubin (ALBI) grade combined with sarcopenia for the long-term prognosis of patients with advanced gastric cancer (AGC) undergoing laparoscopic radical surgery.
Methods: This study analyzed clinical and pathological data from 731 patients who underwent laparoscopic gastrectomy for AGC in 2011–2019. The training and validation datasets comprised 538 and 193 cases, respectively.

Drought poses considerable challenges to the sustainable development of crops, highlighting the urgent need to improve plant resistance to drought stress. Rhizosphere mycobiota roles in drought adaptation remain uncharacterized. This study examines rhizosphere mycobiota diversity, its changes, and interactions with plant physiology and metabolites under drought stress using amplicon sequencing, plant physiological assessments, and non-targeted root metabolomics.

This population-based study is the first to explore the relationship between glycemic control and a novel dyslipidemia composite index-the glycated hemoglobin/high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HbA1c/HDL-C) ratio in individuals with NAFLD and liver fibrosis.
Methods: Data from 5,891 adults in the 2017-2020 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) were analyzed.
Objective: This study examined the preoperative factors influencing the discharge of patients undergoing laparoscopic appendectomy and examined the impact of intraoperative and postoperative recovery on discharge.
Methods: We performed a retrospective analysis of clinical data from 158 patients who underwent laparoscopic appendectomy after admission to the emergency day-surgery ward of our hospital from January to December 2022. The patients were categorized into two groups based on the length of stay: the daytime group (length of stay ≤48 hours) and the routine group (length of stay >48 hours).
Despite advances in treatment, liver metastasis remains the predominant pattern of distant spread for colorectal cancer (CRC) and a major cause of cancer-related mortality. DNA Primase Subunit 1 (PRIM1) has been reported to play important roles in cancer progression. This study investigated the role of PRIM1 in CRC liver metastasis, focusing on its influence on neutrophil recruitment and the formation of neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs).

We found that defective IAV replication in SLC35B4-deficient A549 cells was independent of virus strain specificity, and the virulence of IAV in Slc35b4 knockdown mice was also decreased. By examining the individual stages of the IAV replication cycle, we discovered that the amount of internalized IAV was significantly reduced in SLC35B4-knockout A549 cells.

Methods: Proteomic analysis compared differential protein expression between CRC patients with liver metastasis (CRLM) and those without (CRNLM). Bioinformatics and survival analyses identified key proteins and validated them using the TCGA database for expression and clinical significance.
Background: Although substantial evidence suggests an association between dyslipidemia as an isolated factor and gallstones, research on the Atherogenic Index of Plasma (AIP) and gallstones remains limited.
Methods: A total of 3557 eligible adults from the United States were selected for cross-sectional analysis using the 2017-2020 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey database. Logistic regression was employed to evaluate the association between AIP gallstones.
Colorectal cancer (CRC) is among the most common cancer types for both sexes. Tripartite motif 36 (TRIM36) has been reported to be aberrantly expressed in several cancer types, suggesting its involvement in cancer progression. However, the role of TRIM36 in the colorectal carcinogenesis remain unknown.

Methods: Data from 555 elderly patients with advanced gastric cancer admitted to two medical centers from 2009 to 2018 were retrospectively analyzed.
Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), characterized by excessive collagen deposition, is a progressive and typically fatal lung disease without effective therapeutic strategies. Juglanin, as a natural product mainly isolated from green walnut husks of Juglans mandshuric, has various bioactivities, including anti-oxidative, anti-inflammatory and anti-fibrotic effects. Stimulator of interferon genes (Sting) is a signaling molecule and plays an essential role in meditating fibrosis.

Material And Methods: The expression levels of OIP5-AS1 and miR-186 in GC tissues and cell lines were detected by RT-qPCR analysis.
In order to achieve efficient CO capture, four novel microporous organic polymers, based on distinct polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons such as fluoranthene, binaphthalene, naphthalene and phenanthrene, were successfully prepared by the solvent knitting method. N sorption isotherms indicate that these polymers are predominately microporous with ultrahigh BET surface area , 1788 m g for fluoranthene-based Polymer 1, 1702 m g for binaphthalene-based Polymer 2 and objective CO uptake capacity of 24.79 wt% and 20.

The influence of the vitamin D receptor () gene for the risk of osteoporosis remains to be elucidated. The aim of the present study was to understand the distribution of various single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) within the gene and its association with the risk of osteoporosis. In total, 378 subjects without a genetic relationship were recruited to the study between January 2013 and July 2015.

In this study, the analgesic effects of intracerebral bolus injections of conantokin peptides with different NMDAR subunit selectivity were determined in mice by the standard hot-plate test, and following stimuli with acetic acid, formalin and complete Freund's adjuvant (CFA). In the standard hot-plate model, con-G[S16Y], a NR2B-selective inhibitor, showed the highest analgesic activity among conantokin peptides tested.
