Tongue squamous cell carcinoma (TSCC) is a common oral malignancy prone to metastasis, whose underlying mechanism remains obscure. Here, we report the oncogenic roles of protein arginine methyltransferase 5 (PRMT5) in TSCC via inhibiting transcription factor ΔNp63α. We found that PRMT5 physically interacts with ΔNp63α, resulting in impairment of ΔNp63α-mediated transcriptional regulation.

While creatinine and albumin levels have been studied individually, the prognostic value of the creatinine-to-albumin ratio in predicting mortality in intracerebral hemorrhage patients remains underexplored.
Methods: We performed a retrospective cohort study of intracerebral hemorrhage patients from West China Hospital of Sichuan University (December 2010-July 2019) and The First People's Hospital of Longquanyi District, Chengdu (January 2017-October 2020).
Background And Aim: Pneumonia is a significant complication that negatively impacts outcomes in patients with intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH). Identifying reliable biomarkers for predicting such infections is crucial for timely intervention and improving patient management. This study aims to evaluate the predictive value of neutrophil-to-albumin Ratio (NAR)for pneumonia in patients undergoing surgical intervention for ICH.

This study aimed to establish a standardized Beagle PJI model by integrating species-specific 3D-printed femoral prostheses with quantitative bacterial inoculation, while evaluating the dose-dependent effects of () on infection progression.
Methods: Two titanium alloy prostheses were designed using CT-based anatomical data: BFP-C (canine-optimized) and BFP-H (human-derived).
Mercury exposure may increase the risk of depression. This study examined associations between blood mercury, depressive symptoms (PHQ-9), and metabolomic pathways in Chinese young adults. Fasting venous blood samples and questionnaire data (N = 477) were collected from the Chinese undergraduate cohort study in 2019 and 2021.

Methods: We conducted a retrospective cohort study, including patients diagnosed with ICH from 2 tertiary care centers. NPAR and NAR levels were calculated from blood samples obtained within 24 hours of admission.
The objective of this scholarly endeavor is to engineer an innovative, eco-friendly construction material, specifically straw fiber steel slag foam concrete (SFSSFC), with the dual purpose of optimizing resource utilization and mitigating energy expenditure within the construction sector. Through meticulous manipulation of the constituent ratios of steel slag powder, straw fiber, and foam, a series of 15 SFSSFC specimens were fabricated. Subsequent to their preparation, a comprehensive evaluation was conducted to ascertain their fluidity, water absorption, mechanical strength, thermal conductivity, and resistance to freeze-thaw cycling.

TAp63α is a member of the p53 protein family that is generally tumor suppressive in various other p53-mutant or p53-deficient cancers. Here, we found that TAp63α inhibited cell proliferation, epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT), and migration in several p53-mutant PDAC cell lines.

Background: Long-term exposure to fine particulate matter (PM) has been reported to be associated with inflammation and oxidative stress. However, the underlying metabolic mechanisms remain poorly understood.
Objective: To identify the blood metabolome and metabolic pathways associated with long-term PM exposure.
Lipid oxidation can induce liver oxidative stress and lipotoxic damage, while selenium (Se) possesses detoxification, antioxidation, immunity, and liver protection functions. However, the effects of Se and oxidized lipids on liver oxidative stress and lipid metabolism, along with the underlying mechanisms, remain underexplored. This study aimed to investigate the protective effects of Se against liver injury induced by oxidized soybean oil (OSO) in mice.

Methods: A survey was conducted on 451 college students using the Family Adaptability and Cohesion scales, the Dispositional Moral Sensitivity Questionnaire, the Prosocial Tendencies Measure and the Chinese Version of the Interpersonal Reactivity Index-C.
Results: The results showed that empathy and moral sensitivity significantly mediate the effect of family environment on college students' prosocial behavior tendency.
: strains are widely used as probiotics in the functional food industry and show potential for treating inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). However, the strain specificity and limited stress resistance of restricts its therapeutic effectiveness. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of dietary supplementation with microencapsulated 17-1 on the intestinal immune responses, gut microbiota composition, and metabolic characteristics in colitis mice.

Ubiquitination is a post-translational modification of proteins that plays a critical role in the pathogenesis and progression of AKI. In this study, we aimed to investigate the role and underlying mechanism of the deubiquitinating enzyme Josephin Domain-containing protein 2 (JOSD2) in AKI.

This study analyzed 10,737 publications from 2003 to 2022 in the Web of Science and Scopus databases using bibliometric methods. Key metrics, including annual publication trends, journals, core authors, contributing countries, citations, and keywords, were examined.

Therefore, this systematic review and meta-analysis aim to evaluate the comparative impact of restrictive and liberal red blood cell transfusion strategies among critically ill adult patients with moderate to severe TBI.
Methods: We conducted a search of PubMed, EMBASE, and the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials from their inception through October 20, 2024, to identify randomized controlled trials that compared restrictive (transfusions at a hemoglobin level of ≤ 7 g/dL) and liberal (transfusions at a hemoglobin level of ≤ 9-10 g/dL) transfusion strategies in adult patients with TBI.
Isoliquiritigenin (ISL), a naturally occurring flavonoid derived from licorice root, exhibits antioxidant, anticancer, anti-inflammatory, and anti-allergic properties, and is frequently detected in both environmental and human samples. Previous studies from our lab have demonstrated that ISL exposure can lead to developmental deformities and aberrant immune responses. However, the molecular mechanisms underlying ISL toxicity in zebrafish embryos remain incompletely elucidated.
